I have never seen the series and i nead reasurance before i shell out 100 and so dollars .....I have never been in this forum before for fear of spoilers so if someone could answer me these questions.... I would apreciate it...
1... Does anyone have the DvDs?
2... If yes do the DvDs contain more than two episodes per DvD and are there adequate special features?....
3... Is the story in cowboy bebop worth it or should i spend my money toward the eva or lain series?...
4... If i do buy them should i get them all at once?..
5... If i did get them one at a time is it completely confusing like eva was?...

I don't have the DVD's yet but Jordan does and I'm planning on getting them soon.

The DVD episode division is as follows:
Volume 1:Sessions 1-5
Volume 2:Sessions 6-10
Volume 3:Sessions 11-14
Volume 4:Sessions 15-18
Volume 5:Sessions 19-22
Volume 6:Sessions 23-26
As for extras, the disc is bilingual with japanese with english subtitles or english dubbed versions. Also, I think there's some trailers on the disc.
Actually, I think there's some more extras on Volume 4 with some extra footage and interviews with the creators. At least this is what I read.
3... Is the story in cowboy bebop worth it or should i spend my money toward the eva or lain series?...
In my opinion the series is definitely worth getting. Just read some of the other threads in this forum to find out why it's so good.
4... If i do buy them should i get them all at once?..
I don't think it's necessary although I did watch all of the episodes in one weekend because I thought it was so good. But each DVD has enough sessions on it to keep you from having to buy all of them at once. However, after you watch the first few episodes you'll probably want to go out and buy the rest.
5... If i did get them one at a time is it completely confusing like eva was?...
No not really. Bebop is more episodic in nature than Evangelion so it's easier to come back to after a long period of time. But it does have a storyline and character development that forces you to watch them in order.

1) Yes
2) The no. of eps per disc is in order: 5,5,4,4,4,4, its light on for extras but most anime DVDs are, there are a few music clips and some interviews on Disc 4. Theres no extras on the final disc though :(
3) The story is very good, I'd even go as far as great. The characters are all interesting and theres a lot of action with some humour in there too. One of the best series in my collection.
4) Its not necessary and its a bit punishing on the wallet (theres 6 DVDs) I got them all as they each came out. ts good in the sense that the 2 2 parter eps are both on the same disc (disc 3 Jupiter jazz, disc 6 The real folk blues) but i'd buy them in order to get the character development at the right times. After I got the 1st disc, I was hooked and had to get the rest.
5) Cowboy Bebops very episodic so no and like I said before the 2 parters are on the same disc unlike trigun

it is definitely worth it to get the DVDs.
1.yes,i have 3 and 5.i should have 4 but express.com is taking a while sending me the right one after i sent them session#3 back. i know that i am going to get 1,2,and 6 for Xmas so i won't get those.
2.1 has 5 episodes and so does 2. the rest of them after that have four episodes.
3.yes it is worth it,really worth it.
4.you don't really have to get them all at once.if you have not seen bebop yet,you should start with session#1 and work your way up.
5.like everyone else said,Cowboy Bebop is very episodic.
see you space cowboys.

Glad you liked it Mantis. I hope this means I'll have another person to discuss Cowboy Bebop with in this forum. We need as much discussion as we can get.

Speaking of the DVD's, does anyone know whether they are going to be releases as a box set??? Maybe with a slight break on the price for buying them all together????
Please oh Please oh Please oh Please....................

sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it turns out that they only released the VHS tapes in box sets and do not plan to release the DVDs in a box set(s).
i was hoping for a boxed set as well.
gomen nasai for the bad news.
see you space cowgirl
It is that way, I bought the first one because the title intrigued me and I had 50 dollars on me and had to get a DVD :) from there I was hooked and have bought every one right after it came out. Doesn't look like theres going to be a boxed set at all. Bandai seems to trickle its DVDs (I use trickle liberally, its a torrent of Series :) ) Good thing is I now own all of Cowboy Bebop, watched it heaps. So no boxed Set :( But Get it anyway its easily worth it :)
1... Does anyone have the DvDs?
I own the first 5, i would have the 6th but the stores don't have it yet :(
2... If yes do the DvDs contain more than two episodes per DvD and are there adequate special features?....
5,5,4,4,4,4 is how many episodes per dvd there are..
and the extras are pretty good, some have interviews, others have extra videos and other cool stuff :)
3... Is the story in cowboy bebop worth it or should i spend my money toward the eva or lain series?...
Evangelion/Lain are more of a mind----- type anime series if you know what im saying.. Evangelion is a masterpiece tho, i would rather spend my money towards Evangelion then Cowboy Bebop..
but.. i already own all of Lain and i've seen all of Evangelion and buying the DVD's as they come out.. and as i said before, i just need the 6th DVD in Cowboy Bebop..
The story in Bebop is more of an action/comedy type.. but its really good, you should get it.. but if you haven't seen Evangelion, get that first.
4... If i do buy them should i get them all at once?..
If i were you, i'd buy just the first dvd, then, if you like it, buy the rest.. cause if you don't like it, you can always return the first DVD and get something else..
5... If i did get them one at a time is it completely confusing like eva was?...
Not at all, the storyline is pretty simple and carefree.. its a great anime.
btw.. Yoko Kanno rocks on this SoundTrack!! :)

I know what you mean the soundtrack for bebop is soo impressive its soo strange and seems weird for an anime but damn it fitts soo perfectly.... my favorite song so far is "Bad dog no biscuits " from episode 2 and the song that plays as spike is falling out the cathedral in balad..... Soooo sweet...
