If i want to get htis series for someone who's never seen it, should I get the OAV volume 1 or the TV series #1?
Does it matter?
Is one better?
Does one come after the other in story order?
[B] HELP! [B]
And thanks in advance. ^_^
... thats a tough one....
First, let me say, that the intended order is the tv series... to about the 63 episode (aprox.) then the oav.
The entire tv series runs 95 episodes....
The tv series is VERY different from the oav... and the producers intended it to be that way.
Now, if your friend is the patient type... (read as about 2 years for the entire tv series to make it to market) then I would recommend the tv series to the end of the Kyoto story arc (eps. 28 to 63 aprox.)...then the SamuraiX oav's.
If he or she is not the patient type, maybe the much shorter oavs (2 disks total and both available now).
Be forewarned now, the tv and oav show Kenshin in very different circumstances ... the two are like night and day ... and the order that you view them will in all probability alter how you end up viewing Kenshin.
Hope this helps...

sheesh.
Anime shure is complex ne?
I guess I'll start with the TV series. He's pretty patient ^_^.
Thanks!
It depends on what you're after. I mean I saw the OAVs first then the TV series and I like it that way, it all boils down to what you're after. The OAVs are very serious and show Kenshin before the TV series, the TV series is more light hearted with action but a lot more Manga like than the OAV, ie. the enemies get really unrealistic and there is humour thrown in there. The OAVs are much more accurate and realistic and have a much more human style of animation wehich means no big eyes etc. oh and oro is not mentioned once :)
Asuza_chan, there is a kenshin forum on this MB, kindly reply to this post so we can move this thread there ASAP
