How come when the Army is fighting Sachiel there weapons do no Damage (N2 mine not included), but when the Evas were fighting Matarael(spider) the weapon, a riffel I think, the bullets would be the size of the Tanks bullets and it killed Matarael easily???

Well, Matarael had an extremely weak AT Field (if it even had one, that wimp). And the pilots usually neutralize (sp) the enemies' AT Field with their own AT Field and with the guns (how does that work, exactly?)

As long as the angels ATField is up, conventional weapons have very little to now effect.

The evas, use their atfields to neutralise the angels atfeilds, thus making conventional weapons viable.

I believe that 2 AT Fields neutralise each other a lot better when their sources are close together. This is because at a distance, a AT field loses its strength and is too weak to neutralise another AT field completely.

That's why I think hand to hand combat is the best way to beat the Angels, and that big conventional weapons don't do #$*) all when fired at the Angels at long range.

Asuaka when fighting Matarael, said that she would go up close to the Angel, neutralise its AT field and protect the others as part of the plan. Shinji would get the rifle off Rei, and fire it while the AT field was neutralised by Asuka, thus destroying the Angel.

This is just a theory.

I thought the Eva had to break the AT Feild eg. Sachiel and Sahaquiel

I think it was just that Matareal was just a weak angel. (IMO only).

The Evas used their own AT Fields to break through Sachiel and Sahaquiel's AT Field, though using hands to open it aswell might have helped.

Notice that Misato or Ritsuko comments that the Eva is using its AT field to neutralise the Angel's field, at the time when eva-01 was breaking through Sachiel's At field.

Eh? WTF does that mean? I've spent days on that one...

And as for Matariel...well, it was just a wuss. There. :D This is the reason it has earned it position as Angel Most Disliked By DM7. :)

Misato was commenting that Shinji had created a smokescreen for the angel when he was firing the gun. A very stupid thing to do, really. ^_^;;
