Record of Lodoss ?

Hi there,
Anyone knows "Record of Lodoss" Anime-series ?
And may give me a short overview of it?
Because it's broadcasted in TV soon, and I just want some infos of what it deals, the characters etc...

Record of Lodoss wars rules! It's a really good OAV (original animation video - 12 series i think) though I didnt see the TV series.

You can learn all about it in the Net, but basically it's fantasy-RPG style, with excellent animation and a good storyline. But the thing I like most are the villains - Ashram the Black Knight and Pyroteus the Dark elf are simply great. Ashram = best anime-villain of all time!

I haven't watched this one yet, but I heard it is based on an actual game of Dungeons and Dragons that the director played.... so I am all over it!

well i would suggest watching the OAV first because the beggining of the tv series is sort of an alternate ending to that. at first you probably wont know what the hell is going on unless they dont show the first several episodes. its almost like the first several episodes of the tv series dont even go along with the rest of the series, like they dont flow together. overall i really liked the tv series, but the OAV is better

Watch the OAV, great story great ending, great Characters BUT Don't watch the TV series it pales in comparison

Record of Lodoss War is definitely a classic for me. the OAVs have 13 episodes and are comepletely amazing. the creator was inspired by his games of D&D and got the idea off of creating his own RPG. eventually that idea turned into his own Anime Series. i haven't seen the television series, but it has 26 epsiodes {if i am not mystaken} and i have reason to believe that it takes place 5-20 years or so after the OAVs.

definitely see the OAVs first. because that is the heart and soul of Record of Lodoss War. the Manga is entirely great as well. thir stories aren't anything deeper than Medieval setting with magic and Trolls, but it is definitely a Classic, and will always be one of my favourites.

but like HH said, I think I enjoyed the OAV sounded much more than the TV series. There were some elements of ROLWCOTHK that I liked, but overall, it wasn't that great.

the tv series starts out with our old hero parn, but it soon shifts into the future where the attention is focused onto new hero called spark

But if you haven't watched ROLW, and you intend to, watch the OAV's first.
