Who trained spike?

Ive only seen 17 eps so if this is told after episode 17, please just tell me to keep watching. I was just wondering if i missed it, or if they dont tell who trained spike. Im thinking the syndicate he was a part of may have trained him partially, but still, to get into the syndicate, he would have to have some skills.

maybe Viscious trained him.That would be intersting and it's possible.The Red Dragon might have hired Viscious to train Spike.I'm guessing that while they trained,they became friends or comrades.

Vicious didn't train Spike... The guy that was killed in Ballad of Fallen Angels was said to be a mentor to Spike and Vicious but it is unclear whether or not he trained them. Vicious learned some of his skills in the army... Maybe that's where Spike got his training too. But I think a few years in the Red Dragon would be enough training for any individual so they probably just developed their abilities there.

I believe his name is Mao, but the thing i dont get, is he didnt look very tough (not that spike does at first glance either) but Vicious did say he was a beast that lost its fangs, so i dont know if that means he just went soft with red dragon, or if he was a killer and could have trained them, but now hed rather sit behind a desk making deals. But i dont think vicious trained spike, because they fight with two completely different weapons and it would be hard to train somebody with a weapon you dont use.
