Why is it when Sachiel squashes the Chopper, It blows up in Shinji's Face, but he dosen't get a scrach on him.
All he did was sheild his face from the blast with his arm

The real reason is... because Shinji's the main character and it it had killed him, the series would have ended too quickly, and everyone would have hated Anno, and we all wouldn't have our favorite series to talk about now. I think that's a good enough reason.

Shinji wasn't destined to die then, maybe he was protected by his guardian angel. His guardian angel was Rei. Rei appeared to Shinji early in the series, maybe this was a sign that she would always be their to protect him from any dangers he will encounter. :lol:

and if he had been hurt 3rd impact would have happened a hell of a lot earlyer not to mention there wouldent have been a series
