Episode 2:

1. Scene of Gene loading the paint cartridges into his "blaster" cut.

13. Gene's "now you're gonna die" changed to "now you're gonna get it".

Also, use of words such as "Damn", "Hell", "-------", etc.. replaced by words such as "Darn", "Heck", "Loser".

Yeah I knew all that, thats one of the many reasons I hate toonami and american television! :)

Taken singly, they are pointless. Taken as a whole, it alters the tone of the show. And anime is all about tone at times, especially in action/comedic shows like this one.

So the non-edited version has that much more. Wow, wouldn't have thought. Though they are mostly little things, they could change the tone of the anime itself. I've only heard of this anime recently and have only seen the one on Toonami, but it still seems like a good anime to me at the moment.

It's got me coming home from work early! I don't have the extra cash to spend on rentals at the moment, so anything new on Toonami is good for me. :B:

I truly wish I could speak, read, and write Japanese. But I can't and I have to live with the job the dubbing companies do. So, I guess I am stuck. Besides, if I could translate anime, I think I would be making me some money.
:jdrop: Imagine the cash I could be raking in, and all the unedited versions of shows, I could watch. Here Here to learning how to speak, read, and write Japanese!

I said it before and I'll say it again:

I'm gonna ASS----- THE AMERICAN CENSORS WITH MY SHARPENED STAINLESS STEEL BROADSWORD.

People getting KILLED (and yes, not sent to ANOTHER DIMENSION) is the gritty theme that makes Outlaw Star so intense, and not some GODDAMNN POWER RANGER CLONE!!

Without edits, outlaw star sounds pretty damned cool. Lets leave toonami to the 3-year olds, shall we?

Is it just me, or do american companies really love slaughtering decent anime? Take Sailor Moon, Dragonball Z, Gundam W, CCSakura, Tenchi Muyo, and every other Fu**ing thing they can their hands on.

That's a lot of things to edit out. But they did miss two things. I did hear cussing in two eps. They most of missed them. They most be getting lazy here and there. I would like to see Outlaw Star uncut, but I can't. I don't have the money to buy them.

the edits werent really important. its not gonna f.ucking change the story if gene said '----' and '-------'! and, just in case u dont know, toonami isnt the one the edits most of the stuff, its the company that edits it out (like in the case of tenchi and outlaw star). u gotta understand though, what's ur job? every job has its limits, and if u cross the line, u'll get fired, lose a customer (which in some companies, can cost up to 5 grand if a customer is lost), or get sued for thousands, even millions. no one wants that right? as a working man, i understand this. u just have to do it, period. and if u dont like it, dont watch it, then u dont have to complain.

by the way,to that post on the top of the page, the only time they edit is when it airs on TV, not when they release it on video (xcpet when it says edited on the box) or dvd

I think being an editor at Bandai would be a real cool job! Hell, being an intern there would be cool!

If it was not for CN I probably would not have found Outlaw Star. Seeing a new anime on CN is like a preveiw to me as I can use what they show to judge wether a anime is worth buying or not. The fact that they edit it just makes buying it that much better when you sit down and watch it uncut knowing that not everyone is that prebliged(sp?).

you already probaly posted this but Melfina in the Outlaw Star is really like naked. Those bicycle pants and i guess tube top were digitally place instead of 'flesh'

Is it really that bad if Melfina is "naked" hell she has her arms over her boobs and her legs are crossed over the "magic love pit".

It really shouldn't matter, but I guess it means something to the editors. But what I don't understand is why do they edit out blood??? Where's the harm in that? They show it in Dragonball Z, so why should it be a problem? We see it everyday in normal human lives.
