whats the deal with Sakura Wars ?

2. Are the games based of them any good ?

3. Is the series worth getting into ?

There was a Sakura Wars OVA series and there is a TV series currently airing in Japan.

The game was pretty popular (popular enough to make an anime) so I guess you could say that ppl thought it was good. There has been Sakura Wars 1 and 2, and a 3rd game is in the design phase atm.

Is the series worth getting into? Most animes based off games never reach more than the dizzying heights of mediocre, and that's about where the OVA stands. Can't say much about the TV series, but given that's it's only on Japanese TV atm I doubt you were asking about that.
