Eureka Seven

So I watched the first episode this Saturday and I have to say I am not impressed. That little boy's whining voice is so annoying it makes Spike Spencer's rendition of Shinji Ikari sound like the patron saint of machismo. I think I'll end up attacking someone or something in a homocidal rage if I were ever forced to watch an episode with that voice. Someone let me know when he has his big life changing revelation and isn't such a whiny whore, I'll watch the show from that episode on and pick up the plot points I missed on text.

Did you watch the English version? Because the japanese version isnt whiny, and the English version probably got the same crap ass voice over as Naruto.

Oh, believe me, this anime gets really interesting later on. Especially in the twenties. I'm still watching the fan-subs right now. :)

i think 90% of all the anime become bastardized when dubbed. the only decent one that comes off the top of my head would probably be samurai champloo.

this one seems to have a mixture of previous anime stuff in it.

He's fourteen, I'd be surprised if he wasn't whiny. He whines for a looooong time, but that's the beauty of it. Behind the giant robots and aliens this is just a story about growing up.

When I went to boarding school where several of the younger students were 13-14, I sometimes found their voices annoying but this anime character is played with such an ear splitting quality. Instead of getting a voice actor they could have had someone blowing an air horn into a microphone in morse code and it would have been less annoying.

I've been watching it now as well and it definately gets better in the 20's. And judging by the events around episode 25-26, the whining looks to be dying down now on all part.

I watch the anime on Adult Swim. It's pretty awesome.

I was expecting total crap -- I mean it really looked like a little kids series parading about on AS. But, it isn't bad at all. Pleasantly surprised.

Same thing to me as well.....haha and I was really shocked when that girl already had kids and she look just like a teenage girl.

I ended up watching it anyways, he's toned down the whininess a little bit so it's tolerable.
