Registrations reopened!
After over year of disabling new member regos, registrations have been reopened to visitors! Visitors who want to register must ensure they use an allowable email address and that after they register, they check their email account for the activation code/link. You need to verify and account your account in order to be able to post on the forums!

You can read the Registration guidelines at

Remember to read:

1. Forum rules -
2. Forum FAQ -

These 3 pages of information will ensure your stay is as pleasant as possible :D

For new members, don't be shy and feel free to introduce yourselves in our Introductions forum at :)

Reason for banning certain email address domains, is

1. There are very high instances of these domains being used by spammers and trolls

2. Even more of a problem is these free domain providers etc, promote disposable accounts or have quota limits, which means higher chance of these addresses being invalid or ending up in email sent to them from the forums, bouncing back! I had to delete 3,700+ member accounts due to their email address bouncing back over 1,500+ invalid email messages/day - this back logs my email inbox and causes unnecessary loads on the server powering

If you need to contact the Admin or moderators you can post in the Contact Admin forum here

Good man. Is this a long-term opening of the registrations or are they going to be closed again soon?

eva2000 11-01-2004 12:00 AM

should be long term.... as long as there aren't any forum software issues :)

Oh, a bit of a head's up. All the new regos seem like they're starting as "Registered User"s... I went to look at the other zero posters from before and they're junior members. Was that intentional or is it a glitch that hasn't been fixed yet (since I recall something about Schizm and Daniel480 and that title)?

eva2000 11-01-2004 12:27 AM

hmmm not sure about that... have to investigate :)

thanks for the heads up though!

edit: oh the titles aren't updated in real time i don't think, but every 45mins a scheduled cron script is run to update them...

EVA Type-R 11-01-2004 01:54 AM

Is that any more efficient? It seems like it'd take more power/bandwidth/cpu usage to do mass updates at a scheduled time than it does one by one at each register.

eva2000 11-01-2004 06:28 PM

the interval can be changed as to when it updates... just a few things that can be scheduled to make larger forums run smoother :)

All times are GMT -4. The time now is 09:26 AM.
