Here is one for the nostalgists!! Remember Ulysses in his funk ship cruising to the funk music with his funk beard and funk tights? And then there was that spastic robot NoNo?

I used to get up at 6 in the morning to catch Ulysses when I was about 10. It was up there with the Transformers as my fave show.

For those interested, Ulysses was a joint Japo/Frencho production. The scripting was done by the French with the Japanese doing the animation which was pretty good for its period, (Early eighties I think).

Check today if your video store is selling an ex-rental Ulysses and buy it if not for the nostalgia, then for the sheer comedy value. 'By the great Gods'-Ulysses

For more excruciating detail, Ulysses defied the Gods by destroying the cyclops to save his son. Like his ancient Greek predecessor, he was then forced to search for his home. In this case, Earth. His 'companions' were all frozen and floating in a part of the ship. Only his son and a young alien girl were spared cause they were in some sort of life support system. Of course, for crappy comedy moments, there is always that slightly retarded robot Nono.
