"Spirited Away" Heading to Australia

From www.nausicaa.net

News Thread

"Dale confirmed with Madman Entertainment that the firm is bringing "Spirited Away" to Australia: Madman is hoping to do a theatrical run hopefully in late 2002, with an Australian VHS/DVD release in early 2003. The above dates are very tentative at this stage, since this must be the biggest project Madman has ever done."

If this is true then it absolutely fantastic. I have heard terrific things about "Spirited Away" and to actually get a theatrical release down here would be wonderful.

Singapore? Really? I need to go there more often.

Well Spirited Away coming here to Australia, and possibly in theatrical release too, is certainly good news. I heard it did extraordinarily well in Japan.

Spirited Away is by the same guy who did Princess Mononoke right?

Yep, same guy - Hayao Miyazaki. Spirited Away eclipsed both domestic and international box office hits including Titanic ... I believe the film's fully booked in Japan till April this year (if i did read the article correctly) An amazing achievement since it was originally released in the beginning of 2001.
