The I-channel won't be showing TRY all that soon, there's what, 5 more episodes? An episode a week=5 more weeks of Slayers NEXT. And I have always been disapointed, ever since Syphiel mentioned the Giga Slave could destroy the world. I kept hoping it would, but it never did. It's been 4 or 5 years since I've seen TRY, so I don't remember it too clearly. And I didn't like NEXT that much. It was okay, but not the best. It seems, I don't know, too short. It's weird, I can't really explain it.

I'm not sure whether to be disappointed or happy... The Try series didn't have Sylphiel
But Filia was cool
Strange how she was the only female dragon though ¬_¬
Oh and exactly how much time was suppose to have passed between Next and Try? At the end of Next all of them are off on another adventure, by the satr of Try, as usual they have gone their seperate ways. Well at least they didn't forget about Sylphiel, Zel mentioned her. Wow, bout it.
And the director saying that Lina and Gourry kissed and stuff inbetween Next and Try is pretty much useless. There was barely a spark of anything like that between Lina and Gourry. I mean wahta's the point of saying something like that if you never see it? This isn't real lie it's animation and if something happens you can't just say it happened inbetween a series ¬_¬
Now anyway does anyone know the order, after Try, that the movies and OVA's come in? Or at least when movie was released in order?

It's not known exactly, but I'd say anywhere in between three months and a year. It is known that the characters are a year older by the time each new series starts.

I know that it's useless, but it's the same thing with the ending of Try: (Spoilers if you haven't seen it yet-)

They don't give a definite answer as to what everyone ends up doing, so you have to use your imagination and come up with your own theory. I am completely aware that it is fiction and after the series ends, the characters don't exist anymore, but part of the fun of getting into anime is sometimes pretending they are real and they do have futures. If it weren't for this kind of thinking, then it would be impossible for fanart and fanfiction to exist.
Saying that what the director said isn't valid is like saying something like, "Even though the creator confirmed it, Amelia and Naga can't be sisters because you never see it." Do you see my point?
Now anyway does anyone know the order, after Try, that the movies and OVA's come in? Or at least when movie was released in order?
Here is the order that they were released:
1995- Slayers (TV)
1995- Slayers: The Motion Picture (movie)
1996- Slayers Next (TV)
1996- Slayers Return (movie)
1996- Slayers Special (OVA)
1997- Slayers Try (TV)
1997- Slayers Great (movie)
1998- Slayers Gorgeous (movie)
1998- Slayers Excellent (OVA)
2001- Slayers Premium (movie)
As for timeline order, it goes like this:
All movies and OVAs other than Premium
Slayers
Slayers Next
Slayers Try
Premium doesn't exist on the Slayers timeline. You can't say that it happened "after Next" or "after Try."

I'd ask why Naga isn't in the series but then I haven't seen the movies so don't say anything...
And Amelia and Naga are suppose to be sisters?
Thing is with that is that it's not even mentioned once... Which is why Lina proabably didn't react I suppose
Oh and I always imagine what they'd be up to afterwards... My imagination is very strong
By the way what timeline does the Manga follow?

they just didnt put naga into the series thats all.... its a big pity though
amelia and naga sisters... we suppose it is true, but there are no confirmations on that one
manga... time line, it kinda follows it's onw timeline, you see medieval stuff all over the place and then they'd go and put somethihng like a tv or something in to confuse you

Kanzaka confirmed it ages ago, so yes, they are sisters.

I'd ask why Naga isn't in the series but then I haven't seen the movies so don't say anything...
So far, there hasn't been a reason given why Naga and Lina split up before Lina met Gourry. The Special novels haven't been finished yet, and I assume that there will be an answer when Mr. Kanzaka ends the series.
Thing is with that is that it's not even mentioned once... Which is why Lina proabably didn't react I suppose
I'm not positive as to which subject you're referring to, so here's my answer to both my assumptions:
Mr. Kanzaka said the reason that Naga isn't in the main series is because he needed a character from Saillune (in the main series), but he didn't feel that it would be right to use Naga because then he would have to tell the readers about her relationship with Lina, and the explanation would be too long. So then he created Amelia.
I have two theories as to why Lina and Gourry didn't act different after Next:
1) Lina may be more comfortable and open when it's just her and Gourry. She would never act "mushy" or "weak" in front of her friends.
2) They wanted new fans to be able to watch Try without having to have seen Next.
The latter is probably the reason, although the first reason is technically accurate.
By the way what timeline does the Manga follow?
It depends on which manga you're talking about. All of them are separate stories from the anime, if that's what you mean.
Medieval Mayhem is a bunch of random stories about Lina and Gourry doing odd jobs for money and generally getting into trouble.
Super-Explosive Demon Story is a retelling of the anime and novels. It's not directly connected, meaning you don't have to read the manga to understand the anime or novels and vice versa.
Slayers Special is like the movies and OVAs with Naga, only in manga form. The anime, manga, and novel versions of Special, aren't directly connected. Special doesn't really have a steady plot like the main series does, and it is basically Medieval Mayhem with Naga instead of Gourry.
Slayers Premium is a retelling of the movie Slayers Premium. They are not connected.
Knight of the Aqualord has it's own plot, but it is not connected to the rest of the Slayers timeline. It is like Premium in that sense.

It's all a bit contorted really.
By the way how many manga's are there, in total that have been released in Japan that is, and are they still doing it or has the creator decided that enough is enough?
Oh and this list:

1995- Slayers (TV)
1995- Slayers: The Motion Picture (movie)
1996- Slayers Next (TV)
1996- Slayers Return (movie)
1996- Slayers Special (OVA)
1997- Slayers Try (TV)
1997- Slayers Great (movie)
1998- Slayers Gorgeous (movie)
1998- Slayers Excellent (OVA)
2001- Slayers Premium (movie)

I looked around and all i see are Slayers motion picture and Slayers book of spells... Where are the others? Surely they can't still be unreleased... Actually where does book of spells fit in? ¬_¬

The other movies were never released outside of Japan...though I'm sure you can find bootlegs around somewhere.

ADV has the rights to the rest of the movies and OVAs (other than Premium), and they are supposedly "working on getting them out."
Book of Spells is the name that ADV gave to Slayers Special.
By the way how many manga's are there, in total that have been released in Japan that is, and are they still doing it or has the creator decided that enough is enough?
I assume you mean volumes, because I told you about all the different series in my last post.
Volumes:
Medieval Mayhem- 1
Super-Explosive Demon Story- 8
Special- ??
Premium- 1
Knight of the Aqualord- It hasn't been released in full volumes yet
Knight of the Aqualord started last April, and it is still going. I'm not positive as to whether or not the Special manga is finished or not, but I assume it is.
The only Slayers novel that is still being written is Slayers Special. The 20th volume is released this week, I believe.

Watch at various points, there are hints, an example being when Lina does the "Naga laugh" in Try

Haven't seen the movies or ova's yet so I wouldn't know... but if it's the scene I think it is I suppose Amelia did say something along the lines that she was rather disturbed or hated that laugh. Maybe they do know and it's one of those "off-screen" things where they talked about it but we as an audience never see them talk about ¬_¬
Hell if Gourry and Lina supposedly kissed "off-screen" I don't see why not ^_^

Actually, I'm glad they didn't change Lina and Gourry in Try. First of all, it would be unrealistic if Lina and Gourry started to act like the stereotypical teenage idiots in love. I don't think you have to act any differently than yourself when you're in love, and hanging on each other is definately different from their normal personalities. Second, why would they have to hang on each other on screen anyway? They don't seem like a couple that would do that in public. Third, there is nothing that turns me off faster to a series than romance on display... (Fourth, yes, Amanda is trying to pass time before her statistics test...agggh...)
