Yakitate Japan

Hi all,

To anyone that enjoys an anime that puts a smile on your face and is quite carefree, whilst still maintaining a forward moving plotline..I gotta recommend this anime.

Its about baking bread. I kid you not. Im smiling like a dork just thinking about it. You have your typical "Im dense but a natural at everything" style character, buddyd up with the usual "knows all, fights realistically, but no natural talent" guy. You also have your withdrawn samurai, softspoken confident rich girl, and lots of extraordinarily exagerrated reactions to the taste of bread.
Check it out.

Yakitate Japan! is great. I catch an ep here and there, usually when my roommate watches the latest ep. I read the manga so I don't religiously follow the anime.

In any case, a fun watch. At first, I scoffed at the idea of a manga about bread-making, but after seeing a few of the incredibly, over-exaggerated reactions that follow the tasting of someone's bread... well, let's just say I literally laughed out loud a few times.

As PKO mentioned, the characters aren't completely original and the plot is your typical competition-based shounen (of course, with a twist), but it's still highly entertaining.

On a side note, I can't believe the amount of bread I went through because of Yakitate Japan!. My cravings while reading/watching this were out of hand.

I know. I have all these ideas of visiting a bakery every second morning to stock up on sticky buns and croissants as a result of this show.

Could I be more in love with Tsukino? *swoon*

This series is great! It took an original theme and made it very funny!I"m also tempted to visit a bakery to try some more exotic breads.

Kuroyanagi is my favorite character,I love his reaction to tasting people's bread!Go Kuro-yan go!

I enjoy that serie, it's very amusing.
I also must say, I've seen many wicked women in anime, but Yukino is well.... evil is not a word to describe her.

BTW, I get scared by the 2nd ending.
