Phantom Quest Corp.

This is the story of Ayaka Kisaragi, a sexy red-head alcoholic who is the owner of Phantom Quest -- a company that helps to get rid of evil spirits and demons. The series has only four episodes available on one disc.

Overall, it is an OK anime, but nothing really special. It is somewhat enjoyable, but if you don’t see it its not as if you’ve missed the anime experience of a lifetime.

There are brief flashes of nudity -- very brief. You have to slow down your VCR to catch them. Ah-hem. There are also one or two bits of profanity.

Anyone else ever see this one?

I originally saw this series back in the late 1990's & I rather enjoyed this little series. It's a really goofy & funny show. I love the main character Ayaka, her karaoke singing sessions are hilarious, as are her wake-up calls devised by her 'butler/manager' Mamoru. It's just a pity they only made 4 episodes as it meant that there was very little room for character & plot development.

Do you know why they made only four episodes? Making it longer and developing the characters (and some more complex and dramatic storylines) would have helped. The relationship between Ayaka and that detective (I forgot his name) seemed interesting.

Because it was a show that was created to ride on the coat tails of it's spiritual predecessor Ghost Sweeper Mikami maybe? Ghost Sweeper Mikami ran for 45 TV episodes before it finished (there's a movie too); Phantom Quest Corp appeared later on that year as an OAV.
Perhaps there never were meant to be any more epsiodes.

EDIT: Sorry for the lateness of my reply. I've been really busy lately.
