Lucky Star opinions

I've watched the first episode of this anime since I've heard it's like Azumanga Daiho which I really liked. I was somewhat unimpressed though, I swear they spent half the episode talking about how they eat/cook certain foods. Is the whole series like this?

I've been tempted to start this, been hearing that it's the next big thing. Has some sort of relation to Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, same team I think? Well I know it's the same voice actress.

It's the latest series from Kyoto Animations (KyoAni) who have given us Fummofu, Air, FMP The Second Raid, Haruhi & Kanon 2006.

Doesn't do much for me so far, hopefully they will continue with another FMP (i think enough novels have came out since second raid) and/or Haruhi (8th novel just came out so 6 novels of material!) after they animate their next Key (Air, Kanon) project in Clannad.

I have watched up to episode 8 of this series and personally find it quite funny.
I in particular liked episode 6 with its initial D parody in its first few minutes. I think from my perspective the series has a good feel to it and it utilises the aspects of its genre quite nicely. Another aspect I like with the show, is the closing Lucky Channel scenarios.

I watched episode 1 with about 15 other people, and none of us really found it funny. We were all kind of hoping that it would just end. I mean, over 6 minutes to talk about food. Then we go back to food at the end again? Didn't find it funny.

Like Suzumiya Haruhi, you have to take the first few eps with a grain of salt, afterwards its is really enjoyable when you finally get to know the characters. I find it hilarious and always watch till the ending credits ends, which no other animes has done for me before cause they always have a different hilarious karaoke songs at the end.

I found the first episode could be considered a write off. They get better from there.

The opening theme to this show is an audio holocaust.

If you don't like it just skip it, nobody is forcing you to listen to it

It's like watching Seinfeld but with cute anime girls.

Konata makes me LOLOLOL often... reason enough to keep watching. Oh, Akira during the Lucky Channel sequence cracks me up, too.

I loath Lucky Channel, my mind just switches off when the episode reaches that.

Started watching Lucky Star a few weeks back, it's okay, mostly hit and miss for me. Sometimes it makes me smile usually the parodies like the Initial D one and the Code Geass one and the random-ness that is Konata, other times it bores me to death ahem pretty much the rest of the cast.

I suppose you're right. Akira's antics do get old after a bit. Actually, the show itself may have lost its flavor seeing as how I haven't felt like watching any Lucky Star since episode 12.

I really enjoy it, I don't find it funny but still very enjoyable. I guess I'm in a mood just to watch simple animes where there isn't a complex plot or they have to save the world or some stupid ---- like that.

This is just like a fun relaxing day in the sun. Only greivence is that they are 17 and they look like they are 8. I know Japan is pedo, but there is a limit
