Is Akira se THAT expensive?

I was browsing through a non-anime techie superstore once. Got to the DVD section, and the very bottom level of a lonely shelf, I saw the Akira DVD, SE, non-metal, for $65(CDN)! Was I about to get ripped?

You've been ripped. At the suncoast store where i live its about %29.00, the cost of a regular CD... oh, and this is the 'special edition' mind you.

That's about $43 US ($65/1.5). Still a tad steep eh? Remember it's non-metal.

That's a huge rip-off.

Amazon.com has the non-metal Special Edition for $21.49 and $35.99 for the two-disc metal tin version. Even less offered at used prices.

That's really over priced for the normal edition of the DVD..., my SE tin, including shipping from the US to the UK, cost less than that...,

re: Tin Akira

For some of you who might have bought Akira under $30 (US), you have to remember the Tin Special Edition 2 Disc is no longer available. The cardboard version is still available but the Tin is not. So if by any chance that you see a much higher price tag for the Tin is because of collectability.
