What's your reason for hating?

Just wondering, what about a character makes you hate her/him. I know there's probably a lot of reasons but sometimes there's also only one driving force. You can list a or the characters you hate [from any of the Tenchi Muyo series, ova, movies, of course] and tell us what it is about them that you love to hate? It can be because of their personality, their looks, their character design, how they resemble someone you don't like, how they act towards other characters, or their role in the series/movie.

By doing this though, please try to restrain yourself from flaming other people who post their opinions. Arguments are always welcome though.

It's weird but I don't think I hate any of the characters. Hmmm. Oh yeah ... now that i think of it ... eventho I'm like Ryoko, I have a bit of "dislikeness" for her because my boyfriend's ex likes her and uses her as her handle and he would associate Ryoko with her when they were together. But he says that she's nothing like her while I am SO Ryoko-like. That's the only reason that sometimes I still tend to not like her =P But I know that she's a purty cool character. And I'm slowly trying to forget about that part of the past =P

I kind of dislike Tenchi for not liking Ryoko and showing her as much affection as she shows him, but he's also not bad to her, so Tenchi's still pretty cool.
I like Tenchi because I felt like him a while ago when I had 2 girls fighting over me. "Good times. good times" too bad they moved away

The one I really dislike is Clay, "Bastard Clay" Just thinking about the treatment he gave Zero and how he treated Ryoko like a science experiment in his ship makes me want to kill him myself.

I just want to go full megami on his ass and rip him appart, not even Tokimi-sama would be able to save him. (EVIL LAUGH) BWA HA HA HA WAH

well i dont know who i hate . . . i like all Tenchi characters, hmm but id have to say i hate Yugi from Tenchi in Tokyo, stupid little brat who takes away Sakuya from Tenchi

What makes me dislike a character is when the character is two-dimensional (Sakuya, Kiyone) or when a character doesn't have a good group dynamic and fit in with the rest (Trunks... from DBZ).

i think the charater i hate is Yugi

she was the cause of the entire TiT so-called "series" ::makes a vomiting face::

and she teased Tenchi with Sakuya..makes me want to go Lighthawk on her and SHING! slice her into confetti....who is with me on this?

i dont like kiyone, probably becuase she's too serious, and i also hate yugi and her entourage, just plain stupid and wack characters

Hate is a strong word but methinks when it is used in this context ... it's not really the full meaning fo the word. In anime, we are bound to not like or even hate a character ... there's no way one can avoid that ... because we can't love or like every character we meet. We'll have different reasons and such and hopefully nobody's really taking it seriously. I mean, this is anime we're talking about ... most of us watch it so we can escape reality ... so, in conclusion ... hate in anime isn't harmful unless the individual is serious about it =P

Whew ... ok ..... I know a lot of ppl hate Yugi and Sakuya and the series Shin Tenchi. I understand that the reasons are usually biased because of the previous Tenchi Muyo series, OVA and movies. If Shin Tenchi was a different anime and had different characters altogether .. would any of you have liked it at all? Because really, there's no denying that it was funny and also the inevitable romantic tragedy between Sakuya and Tenchi was indeed dramatic. It's just that compared to the other TM's, it does not have the usual elements in the other series and etc.

Also, ppl tend to have grown attached to the other girls and they prolly relate to them so a lot was hurt when Tenchi fell in love with Sakuya. How could he??? Why did he??? WHY OH WHY, the humanity!!!!!!!! I mean, it wasn't Sakuya's fault, nor was really Yugi's.

I, Being a HUGE Tenchi fan, would like to tell you about an observation I made.
Not only do I study (basically) the things related to Tenchi, but I look at people's behabiors.
Some Tenchi fans became Tenchi fans because they say Shin Tenchi Muyo TV.
They did not know about Tenchi before they saw it and, yet, they loved the anime.
It is not as good quality in some aspecst to the OAV, but it is a good anime that is enjoyed by many. A lot ef newbies to AB and tenchi started out, as stated before, by watching that series withought further knowledge of the Tenchi world.

Personally, I'm getting to the point that I don't think Shin Tenchi is all that bad. However, it's true that due to my previous experiences with Tenchi I don't hold sakuya in the highest of regards. All those who followed along in the OVA were wainting to find out who Tenchi would pick. Then along comes this off-the-wall series, and he choses some new girl no one has ever had a chance to form attachments to. This is why i kinda dislike Tenchi Forever. Ryoko is standing there offering her love openly in one of the most touching moments in tenchi history, and he chooses Yosho's little woman instead. I don't really think I hate the characters, just the situations.

*nodnod* A lot of Tenchi fans will understand how you feel because almost all of them prolly felt the same way.

I, on the other hand, liked Shin and Tenchi Forever. I didn't see Tenchi betraying the other girls by choosing the new character. When I saw the two, I saw them as separate series, movies from the others. Tho in Tenchi Forever, Tenchi didn't really choose Haruna. He was under her control after all. Although at one point we know that he wasn't and when he choose Haruna then again [trying to remember the movie =P] it was a strategy really ... Tenchi is as smart as he was in the OVA and the TU.

Yes, it's true that lot of the ppl who saw Shin Tenchi first liked the series and that got them into Tenchi Muyo which is good! And because they weren't biased, they can see the characters different strength and weaknesses.

I actually saw Shin after seeing TU, the OVA, TMiL and DoD. Surprisingly, I liked Shin better than TU.

yeah i would agree, Tenchi Tokyo was like a 5 on a scale of 10, so it was good in some respects but sometimes are few and far between the characters were okay except the ones i listed before

Tenchi in Tokyo is utter crap. Had I started watching it first, I don't think I would've watched the other Tenchi series. I see absolutely no "strengths" of any character in TiT as they are all 2-dimensional and simply dull. There isn't any real plot and it's not even funny... it's just bad.
