I typed up a fan fic about Escaflowne a while ago. It's kind of gruesome, kind of sad, *sniffle* but in a way, funny as well.
It's called "Dilandau's Dream Come True?" Gee, guess who its about.....
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Somewhere on Gaea, a vicious battle raged. The war on Gaea still hadn’t ended, and it was reaching a new peak. A barren plain of rolling rock hard hills surrounded by mountains on the west and north sides. Several guy melefs had been dueling to the death for hours. For once, Zaibach was losing, and soon the only ones standing were about seventy guy melefs of different
varieties. Suddenly, one more Zaibach guy melef dropped from the sky and sent clouds of blood stained dirt flying beneath it’s mechanical feet. The sight of this guy melef made the other melefs
freeze with fear. For it was none other, than the infamous red guy melef. From inside, Dilandau peered at the melefs staring in a terrified manner at the very sight of him. Slowly, a wicked grin spread across his scarred face. All those guy melefs, he thought. All those pathetic, weak guy melefs. All here for me to kill them. He started to chuckle, then mockingly laugh, then a demonic insane fit of laughter erupted from the inside of the red guy melef, sending arctic cold shivers down the spines of the other melefs.
“HERE I COME!!!” Dilandau yelled, and he ran forward, arms pointed toward the mass of melefs. Multiple Crima Claws tore the air to shreds and proceeded to dig beneath the metal skin
of the guy melefs. Dilandau lept into the air, formed a sword made of Crima, and brought it smashing down onto a melefs head. There was a scream, but it was cut off quickly, and quite
literally. Dilandau swung his arms at the four nearest melefs.
“BUUUUUUURN!!!!!” he screamed, firing a typhoon of flames upon the melefs. The agonizing voices of the unlucky pilots wailed from inside, slowly burning to death.
“Yes, yes, yes, yes, YES!!!” Dilandau cackled with glee. An Esturian melef charged toward his back, hoping to impale him, but Dilandau spun around and the melef was instantly riddled with dozens of holes drilled by Crima Claws.
“Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha HA HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This madness continued on until finally only twenty or so melefs were left. These pilots were scared enough to make the wise decision and turned and started to run. Dilandau snickered at
them .
“Pathetic cowards,” he teased. The mad throbbing in his eyes dimmed a little, but only a little. “Fortunately, none of you are who I’m looking for. But then again, why not have just a little more fun with you!?” Dilandau fired a volley of Crima Claws and aimed so that each claw tore through the exact center of a melef’s back, allowing Dilandau to take down ten more melefs. This motivated the survivors and they ran even faster. Dilandau sneered, and the hellish fire began to burn in eyes once again.
“Well if you’re going to be that easy to kill I GUESS I’LL JUST FINISH YOU ALL!!!” Dilandau converted to flying mode and tore after them. He went back to melef mode in mid air above them and formed a Crima sword as he fell. He spaced his legs and both of his feet pounded through the heads of one melef each and Dilandau swung his sword, severing another melef in half, right across the control chamber. He eventually transformed the rest of the terrified pilots into lifeless pieces of melef wreckage. The pyro panted and wheezed with a mad smile spread across his face and his blood red eyes wide with excitement.
“Yes, that’s it, that’s it, that’s it!!” he stammered. Suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, he caught the sight of a very familiar vessel. Not too big for a leviship, oddly shaped, with two
levistones attached to the port and starboard. The Crusade. And it was landing to wait strategically and make plans. What a perfect target, the mad man thought, what a ripe, juicy, perfect target. He then saw something that sent his heart pounding like a snare drum and his eyes widen even more. Two guy melefs emerged from the Crusade. The Scherazade. And the Escaflowne.
“This must be my lucky day,” Dilandau sneered. He converted to flying mode and soared into the cloudy sky. He zoomed over to the Crusade, and judging by the two melefs down below, Van
and Allen had noticed him.
“Don’t worry, I’ll get to you two later!!!” Dilandau shouted. He raised both of his arms and fired upon the Crusade. Crima Claws tore apart the two levistones into useless piles of rubble.
“No! Stop it!” Van yelled at Dilandau, but Dilandau only relished in Van’s outburst.
“MAKE ME!!!” He screamed, and he raised arms again and fired a tornado a flames upon the Crusade. Ripping at sheets of metal, tearing at walls, scorching people...
“No!” Allen yelled, horrified to see his men burned to a crisp.
“Hitomi!” Van yelled, trying to peer through the flames and make her out. Surprisingly, Hitomi and Merle, clinging to each other, went crashing through a window and landed on the ground.
The two choked and coughed the smoke from their lungs and tried to catch their breath.
“What’s happening!? What’s going on!?” Merle cried.
“Merle,” Hitomi said, still coughing, “don’t worry. I’m sure that--” Hitomi stopped. For she had looked up, and saw the red guy melef circling the air. Dilandau spotted her too, and his heart
jumped.
“It’s you!!!” he screamed. “That damn troublesome girl from the Mystic Moon!!!”
“Oh no!” Van yelled, horrified at what he knew was about to happen.
“Van! Let’s get going! If we’re quick, we can still protect them!” Allen shouted.
“Right! Let’s go!” Van agreed, and the two tore off past the burning Crusade toward Merle and Hitomi. But they weren’t fast enough.
“DIIIIIEEE!!!” Dilandau screamed, firing a series of Crima Claws down onto the terrified girls. Merle and Hitomi screamed and grabbed onto each other. The claws pounded the ground, inches
away from them. Both were startled they were still alive.
“Come on, let’s go!” Hitomi yelled, grabbing Merle’s arm and running between the claws. Merle was completely terrified out of her mind and got on all fours and zipped ahead of Hitomi. Hitomi
looked up and saw Dilandau raise another arm.
“Merle! Wait!” she shouted, but it was no use. A suffocating swarm of fire burst down and buried Merle in ravaging flames.
“Nooo!” Hitomi screamed.
“Merle!!!” Van yelled.
“Damn it!!” Dilandau cursed, despising the fact that he is missed that girl. “This time I’ll get you!!!!” Dilandau flew down and converted to melef mode. He landed on the ground and brought
his Crima sword up high, ready to send it crashing down on Hitomi. Suddenly, there was a blue blur and the Scherazade appeared in front of Dilandau, blocking his sword!
“No! I will protect Hitomi with last ounce of strength in my body!” Allen shouted, teeth gritted. Dilandau narrowed his eyes and his teeth grinded. Curse that Allen Schezar, he thought, Curse
him! He’s more troublesome than that girl!
“That does it!!!” he screamed. “Today is the day you will die, Allen Schezar!!!” Dilandau swung his sword again and it was once again blocked. He brought his sword around and repeatedly
made vicious swipes at Allen, each blow getting closer to his chest than the next.
“Van! Quickly!” Allen yelled. Dilandau remained puzzled for a moment, until the Escaflowne dragon flew past him on the ground and picked up Hitomi!
“OH NO YOU DON’T!!!!” Dilandau screamed, and he spun around and fired a stream of sizzling heat, striking the Escaflowne’s left wing. The dragon spun wildly and crashed into the ground sending Hitomi flying across the dirt. Dilandau reverted his attention back to Allen. He made several more swings, making Allen more and more uncoordinated. Dilandau finally swung
his sword four times, the first knocked Allen’s sword away, the second lopped off his right arm, the third lopped off his left arm, and the fourth went piercing right through the control chamber.
Dilandau couldn’t believe it. The Scherazade hung lifeless on his blade, no movement what so ever, and stains of blood surrounded the gash in the chest.
“HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!” Dilandau cackled. “HOW DO YOU LIKE THAT, ALLEN SCHEZAR!!!???”
“No!! It can’t be!!!” Van stammered.
“No!!!” Hitomi screamed. “Allen!!!” That was a mistake. The red guy melef spun around.
“Oh yes, I almost forgot about you!!!” Dilandau shouted. He raised his arm and pointed it at Hitomi. “YOUR TURN!!!!!” Another firestorm flew though the air and scorched Hitomi and the
ground around her. Van gaped at the sight, literally rendered speechless. His brow furrowed and his teeth gritted together. His narrowed eyes flashed.
“Dilandau....” he spat. Dilandau simply smiled that insane smile, and his eyes glowed with anticipation. The Escaflowne went to melef mode and it’s sword was out in a flash.
“ Damn you, Dilandau!!!!!” Van screamed, making a jousting charge at the red guy melef. Dilandau was beside himself with excitement.
“Well then, let’s just finish this up then, huh VAN!!!!????” Dilandau charged back at Van and the two warriors clashed together. Their swords flew and sparks shattered the air. Neither of them gave one bit. Van was consumed with anger, hatred, heartbreak......But Dilandau was even stronger. He was consumed with craziness, insanity, blood thirst, and one objective....
“DIE VAN!!!” Dilandau swung his blade, which Van barely countered with a vertical block.
“GO TO HELL, DILANDAU!!!” Van screamed, lunging at Dilandau.
“ALREADY HAVE, VAN!!!” Dilandau mocked, easily blocking Van’s attack.
The two melefs continued their duel for killing the other for what seemed like an eternity.
“BUUUUUUUUURNNN!!!!!” More flames burst forth, but the Escaflowne shot to the left and brought its sword around.....but it was only blocked again.
“IS THAT THE BEST YOU HAVE, DILANDAU!!!???”
“DON’T WORRY, THERE’S MORE WHERE THAT CAME FROM!!!!!!”
The two battled and battled, each trying to sneak in a blow, but only having it blocked by their adversary. Finally, the two warriors were becoming exhausted, panting dry breaths, shivering in
their control chambers. But Dilandau was used to this. He had participated in many battles that were oh so very tiring. Van, hadn’t and it showed. Dilandau felt his blood pumping through his
veins like a steam engine. He finally had him.
“THIS IS OVER, VAN!!!” Dilandau converted to flying mode and flew straight up into the air above the Escaflowne. He then flipped upside down and shot down to the melef below him at a
blinding speed. At the last second, he went to melef mode and formed a Crima sword. He brought it over his head and sent it crashing down. There was a loud metal crunching scream, and
when Dilandau looked. his mind was completely overjoyed. The force of his rock hard descent on the Escaflowne had allowed his Crima sword to cut the Escaflowne almost completely in half,
vertically. The melef almost instantly went limp. Dilandau yanked his sword out of the melef and the Escaflowne fell forward in a pool of blood. Dilandau was overjoyed. All of the people he had
hated, all of the people that had opposed him, all of the people that had caused him so much trouble, now lay dead around him.
From inside the red guy melef, a howling of hellish proportions erupted. Dilandau’s mad fits of laughter reverberated off the mountains and could be heard for miles....
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Lord Dilandau.”
“Emmmm...”
“Lord Dilandau, wake up.”
“Uh, huh?” Dilandau awoke with a start. he sat upright and looked around. As his vision came into focus he saw that Gatti was the one who had addressed him. Dilandau scanned his
surroundings. He was on the Vione, at the Dragon Slayer headquarters. He was sitting on his lion-shaped throne.
“Huh?” he stammered in a confused manner. “What happened? Where’s the mountains? And the sky? And the Escaflowne...”
Gatti had a quizzical look on his face. “Lord Dilandau, you must’ve been dreaming,” he explained. “You sent all of us on scouting missions. I was the first to return and I found you sound asleep.”
“Really?” Dilandau mused. He rested his hand against his forehead. “Guess I really haven’t gotten a good night’s sleep in a long time.” He sat up and looked at Gatti. “That will be all,” he
said. “Give me your report once everybody has returned.”
“But Lord Dilandau,” Gatti objected. “You told us to report as soon as--”
“I SAID REPORT TO ME LATER!!!” Dilandau yelled, up on his feet and fists clenched, ready to go flying at a moments notice.
“Y-yes, sir!!!” Gatti stammered, and hurried out of the room.
Dilandau fell back onto his throne. He groaned. Just a dream, he thought, all of it was just a dream. But he didn’t have to let that get him down. Instead he remembered all of the events that
happened in his dream. In all their bloody detail. All those melefs dead. The Crusade burned to a crisp. Allen Schezar dead. That girl from the Mystic Moon dead. And Van, oh yes, Van was dead
too. That was the best part.
“Such a pleasant dream,” Dilandau snickered, stroking the scar on the side of his face. His grin grew wider and he closed his eyes, thinking about that glorious dream.
“Who knows,” he said, opening his eyes just a little. “Maybe it’ll turn out to be deja vu.” This little thought delighted Dilandau very much and continued to stroke his cheek and snicker, thinking about that pleasant, wonderful dream......

Well, what did you expect of a dream from the psychotic Dilandau's mind? What'd ya think?
