Unforgettable MANGA moments

Let's keep this thread exclusively to MANGA discussion. So what are your unforgettable MANGA moments?

Blade of the Immortal
Manji seems to be missing often and runs off with a prostitute. His companion gets a tad bit jealous and let's down her hair and asks manji if she looks pretty with her hair down. Manji laughs and says that she can't look beautiful just by letting her hair down.

X by CLAMP
!!!spoiler alert!!!

The soothesayer gives Kamui a glimpse to the past and realizes that Fuuma has always known that he would fight against kamui. Kotori's mom and dad are talking in private. Kotori's mom confesses that she has the sword. the father of course, feels hearbroken. Mom explodes into myriads of pieces to reveal the sword. After father leaves, Fuuma steps in the room and picks up his mother's head. He licks the blood drooling over it and catches up with Kotori.

There are better moments from Blade of the Immortal such as in the Gathering where Manji systematically dispatches all of his enemies as continually loses limb after limb.

That was far more memorable than when Manji went off with the hooker, IMO at least.

Big spoilers for this one

Akira
After seeing Takashi get shot in the head, the worst fears of everyone are confirmed as newly revived Akira once again destroys Tokyo. However it's the moment after that as we see Akira begin to play with some rocks and Tetsuo approaches the young boy in complete and utter silence. The two look at each other realizing that after this moment neither's fate would ever be the same.

But in my mind, the one of the best moments I've ever seen in any comic period comes from Katushiro Otomo's other great work Domu; A Child's Dream.

At the end after the massive damage caused by the fight between Cho and the little girl (whose name escapes me), Old Man Cho is about a week away from leaving the apartment complex where he has nearly destroyed the lives of everyone in the complex. As he looks forward, he sees his opponent and instead of anger or glee at possibly getting revenge, we instead one of the most intense looks of fear ever put onto the printed page. If I had a link to that double page spread, I would show it to you guys. It's one of my favorite pages ever made in comics.

::::Spoilers::::

__________

In Blade of Immortal they're A LOT of moments in it that are unforgettable!

Like in Heart Of Darkness, when Shira kills and torchers those people from the Itto-Ryo ( did I spell that right? )

I felt so bad for that women!
(*shudders* when he took his sword and cut her breast.... I still get chills thinking how painful that must have been)

And when Shira killed the doggie! THE POOR THING!

( thats another reason why Shira scares the hell outa me!

I like this one and also Iori's follow up to that, "I thought it was one-sided". (coz she's been in love with him ever since their freshman year in HS)

I agree with Akira that is a really good moment, but there are so many fab moments in that one. Like when the whole building is collapsing and that mad woman is rolling that dead body around cooing to it and the big block of cement falls down.

And if anyone is interested to see the double page that Akira is talking about I am happy to oblige, though it has been nibbled on by Stubble (he ate the cover too, damned pets)

I loved the whole mid air fight sequence in Domu, since it took me two times to realize the whole thing is drawn upside down but the effect created is unforgettable ^_^

X spoilers

While the moment already listed was memorable, it was so in a very "Whoa! Dude! Blood and guts!" kind of way (after 17 volumes of "Whoa! Blood!" moments, one grows a bit numb ¬_¬). I found X's most memorable moment to be Seishirou's death in vol. 16. Not only was it the first Dragon death, but it was -beautifully- written and drawn. No single moment in the series has mixed so many emotions at so high a pitch so well.

The first time we get to see hisoka appear in hxh I read a review of the manga saying he was the hannibal lecter of the series and I gotta say he does deliver the goods.

It's to bad that he's the anime had his evilness toned down as his entrance scene was horribly raped.

AA! Megami-sama : Belldandy actualy getting angry at Mara taking possession of her friends in school to make sayoko (sorry if it's not the right name, haven't read that part in over 2 years), as it's one of the very few times belldandy really looks like she's ready to kick some ass, in her own way.

Recca no houno : Yanagi kissing Recca, i think every fan of the series was waiting for that one

Which entrance scene, Petezilla? The one where he goes, "how come u r missing ur hands? Next time when u bump into someone, remember to apologize?"

I liked the "amateur killer vs. ex-professional killer" battle scene from the same series. The moment when he stares at the heart in his hand is golden.

Other series:
Yu Yu Hakusho: "Black Dragon Wave"'s first appearance. Hiei's "Happy Birthday!" to Mukuro.
