inu-yusha on tv

From ACEN 2002 VIZ Panel
Finally, Viz still has the rights to the Inu Yasha anime, and are working on getting it on Cartoon Network. They are very confident that it will be broadcast on CN but at this time they don't know when. The home video release dates will depend on when the broadcast dates are agreed on.

im thinking of a fall schedule here. it'll most likely be on Adult swim action (since toonami's fall schedule was alrady announced some weeks ago while AS' schedule was said 'will pick up new shows as we go along') so i can see the gorgeous opening and not to mention it will go uncut (unless there are some frontal nudity), and judging from the way they handled bebop and yyh, i think IY will be fine, although i havent seen IY yet...(just inform me in this thread if there are stuff that is offensive...i dont think there is anyway, my mentality is, if bebop is on air 97% uncut, then they can show any anime uncut except berserk)
EDIT: i just noticed that other thread also called "inu yusha on tv", but i made a new one anyway becuase this one is more of a 'confirmation' that it will be on cn.

? i dont think its sad at all, assuming that it will be on AS, it will be pretty much uncut as told by me by some people. the dub, as reported by AoD, is supposedly real good (boy ranma also does the voice for Inu yusha, kinda like the japanese version, japanese seiyuu of ranma also does inu yusha's)

I agree with Falinah, I'm just afraid that Inu Yasha will be ripped apart by american tv.

i can guarantee you that it wont. you want evidence? go watch Cowboy Bebop and Yu Yu Hakusho in which had been airing 97%uncut (yyh had been running uncut since episode 2). of course, that is assuming that Inu Yusha gets on Adult Swim, but if it goes to toonami...then its a different story (but its very not likely that it will go to toonami since toonami's fall schedule is already full)

also note that Cartoon network will no longer be editing the shows they get, the shows themselves will be edited by the companies themselves, and becuase CN dont edit animes anymore, regulations are a little more loose. but none-the-less, im pretty sure Inu Yusha will be on Adult Swim, and it will have a TV-14 rating, and some people are saying that inu yusha will be the second anime that will air uncut on CN (the first being gundam wing)

seems they aren't
as if inuyasha would be cut up so badly that it won't be the same if bebop can air just about uncut
It's good to hear that iy will be on tv, it will get quite popular, and if as had kenshin on afterwards it would be a killer hour

i also hate the english ranma/inu yasha voice, and really really really really love the japanese ranma/inu yasha voice. So i guess that's also why i think it will suck pretty bad.

Ahh, so the English voice for Inu is the same as Ranma...glad I went ahead and ordered the Imports (also can not stand english Ranma)
Hey Fatal, I'm with ya bro. I think CN did an EXCELLENT job on Cowboy Bebop.
Although, if translated like some of the fansubs and Magnas...its not a simple Damn to Darn translation. There is some nasssty language coming from Inu's potty mouth

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOO
I am a fan of toonami or adult swim, but LEAVE INUYASHA ALONE!!!!!! It's too beautiful to be stereotyped. Like, can you imagine the stupid little toy commercials in the middle of a beautiful ep. of Inuyasha. Or a commercial for some stupid Cartoon Network show? I think it would ruin the epic feeling of Inuyasha to put it on TV in America. I'm probably being irrational, but I'll defend my statements to the finish.

and how do you think it aired in japan? im pretty positive it aired with commercials as well, and the commercials for AS are the same commercials you would see when watching mtv like commercials for truth, michelin, nascar, 1800 call att, etc (the worse commercial you'll see is Yaffa), i can assure you that there are no toy commericals for AS. although i wouldnt mind to see that Cowboy Bebop commerical that was specifically made for CN (the one with jet speaking), thats like, the best commercial for an anime series that ive seen c'mon guys, it wont be that bad. just look at how bebop fans reacted when it was reported that bebop will be on tv, almost all of them were negetive including me. at least wait until it premieres and then if its bad, then i'll join you guys in protesting

Indeed, how sad...
I don't thing it's the "damn to darn"s that make people mad... at least not me. It's the dubbed voices themselves. No emotion, cute in Japanese==>hellishly irritating in English, etc.... I could go on for hours but I don't have that much energy right now There's really no comparison anyway. I know a lot of people think there's nothing wrong with dubbing so don't flame people about not liking it, it's just an opinion that they are perfectly entitled to.
