Clock Tower RPG (Application thread)

Hello people, as you may not know this is my directorial debut in the RPG field, and it's a doozy. Here are the details.

The Clock Tower RPG is based on a series of games starting on the SNES and concluding on the PSX. I will be using the locations and general storyline of the PSX one but characters, survival and how the story ends up is on your shoulders. There are 4 acts, each act containing two parts to it: The intermission and the escape scenario.
The intermission is the normal RPG fare, where people can talk to each other, travel places, flesh out the characters and advance the storyline. Intermissions take place in the daytime,so there is no chance of attack.
Escape scenarios take place at night, at a certain location, and only to certain people! This is really only a major factor in Act 1 but it might still tick some people off. I will allow "dialling-in" another player character using a phone if you can find one, but you can only dial-in one character before the lines are cut, and only if you find a working phone!
Because this structure thing may be confusing some people, and when I mention that act 2 and 3 happen at the same time, here is a basic structure

Act 1
Intermission----Escape scenario

Acts 2 and 3
Intermission--- Scenario 1 (half the group)
Scenario 2 (other half)


Act 4
Intermission --- Scenario--- Endgame

Now we get on to the fun bit, the escape scenarios. Remember wit the exception of the cops, you are scared, defenceless, relying on cunning, adrenaline and whatever the hell you can use against or to hide from Scissorman. This is where this RPG is going to take a turn from the others. Wait for it : You CAN die!
Scissorman is a demonic loony, he will not hesitate to cut someone up good if they can't get away from him and here's the best bit, so I can free up character slots, I will not be playing any of the 6 characters open to you, the RP-er. Instead, I will be playing all NPC's and most importantly of all, I will be playing Scissorman! I measure victim wanted level by post quality, bad posts equals a scissorman on their tail. Because of the fact that people can die, I have devised multiple endings. This is also incentive for you to keep this thread alive. Post well, Post often, and hopefully when the game is over you will all be still alive. If this thread goes dead due to lack of effort on your part, you get the worst possible ending. Persevere and you get the best,simple as that!

As mentioned earlier, there will be six characters, who I will choose is up to the quality of your application. Because of the nature of the RPG I will need to be slightly specific about some characters. There will be two "Mains", two miscellaneous characters, one police detective and one news reporter. That is where it ends though, who the characters are and the stories behind them is completely up to you.

(please keep in mind that I have never played this game, this sample is written under the assumption that the setting is a small New England style town)

Martin smiled aimiably as the clerk handed him the roomkey connected to a tacky plastic keychain.
"It's really fantastic to have such a famous author staying at our little hotel! What brings you to our neck of the woods?"
Martin leaned on the counter, looking from side to side, "Oh' I'm just here for the scenery, taking a shot at painting some of the local sites. Maybe a little inspiration for my next book. But I'd appreciate it if you kept all of this on the down low, you know?"
The clerk nodded slyly as if to say, "I got ya." and Martin walked up the creaking stairs with his luggage in hand. His room was the second to the right and he got in without incident.
Several minutes later he had his clothes and various stuff put away and decided to get a start at once. He used the courtesy Mr. Coffee to whip up a cup of joe as he looked through his assorted papers and articles.
Another disappearence...Police Baffled...Locals suspect "evil spirit"...
Those newspaper clipings are what brought him to this town, even if there were no "evil spirit", this town's story had the potential for another best seller...
"Let's check out some of the local color, then the infamous Clocktower."
He grabbed his little briefcase and walked out of the room, locking up behind him.

:: Hiroshi leans down and reaches for his black electric guitar. He lightly lifts the guitar into the air and throws the guitar strap over his shoulder; he pulls out his favorite guitar pick. A small picture of a feather is painted on the pick; it gives off a slight glow due to the florescent lights in his basement. Hiroshi walks over to the amp and sets it to its appropriate sound level, and adjusts his arms. He puts his fingers to the strings and begins to pluck, taking care to make sure that he hit every note correctly. His other band members soon follow his lead and being to play what seemed to be a very hypnotic and demonic melody::

Ahh ok i see, well heres my character. Umm question in the application shouldnt we have a description thingy for our character . . . maybe . .?

Side note, Steath did you base your character of Hiroshi from Gravitation as they both have the same name and both play the guitar for a small band . .

The crowd started to cheer as the blidning white limosuine pulled up to the red carpet, Ekin pushed and elbowed his way through the crowds of cheering fans, till he reached the front. Two tall built men stood in black suits with their arms crossed, "Sorry sir no one gets through" one muttered.

"But im doing an article of Miss Faye, please let me pass" Ekin replied, pulling out his pen and pad he waved it infront of the two men, "See?"

"ZzzZzzzZzzzz..." The loud breathing echoed threw the halls of the homicide depart ment.

With each breath, the police chief's patients grew thinner and thinner... Until he had enough.
He stood up from his chair and stomped threw the homicide department and out into a small waiting room.
Where, just as he had thought, was Tsutami sitting on a chair snoreing away, when she should be answering phones...
He unclenched his fists and pushed his glasses back.
Then drew in a few breathes and yelled Tsutami's name.

Startled by her name being yelled, she fell off the chair and onto the floor. "What?" She asked, sitting back in her chair.

"Make a copy of this and send it to the address written on the back."
He handed her a file marked URGENT

She opened it and flipped threw the pages, catching glimpses of pictures and notes. "Okay, but I get paid extra. I am supposed to be on lunch ya know!"

He glared at her threw his thick glasses, and stomped back threw the homicide department, muttering foul language.

She looked pleased with herself and began to read the file.
"...push over..." She smiled to herself and walked to the copy machine.

Role of Character: Police Detective

Writing sample:

The dreary weather shook the earth as rain and thunder poured down on the city. Dante liked the rain...it was his only refuge. Lightning crackled and Date smiled. He took a sip of the coffee he was drinking and continued his activity.

He had been on a Steakout for nearly 5 days now...but that didn't bother him. He wanted to stop this criminal. He joined the police force so he could protect those who couldn't do so themselves. He wanted to protect them..unlike anyone did for him. He remembered his childhood very well. His father never paid attention to him and as such Dante was a rather reclusive boy. When his father did pay attention to him it was usually in a druken rage...Dante still has the scars on his back...

Dante looked closely at the scene and saw what he was searching for. The tip was right. He saw a bunch of teens surround a man who had a strange substance in his hands.

Dante: " Must be that new drug the chief was talking about..."

Dante knew if he didn't act then the dealer would get away. If he were to escape he would deal again and destroy more young lives.

Dante fired his gun into the air and the youths looked up in shock. Dante wasted no time in tackling the dealer and bringing him to the floor. The other teens ran away as Dante and the dealer struggled. Suddenly, the dealer took out a knife and stabbed Dante in the side. Dante panicked and pulled out his gun. With no mercy, Dante shot the dealer in the head...spilling his blood and brain everywhere...

Dante stood in he rain with his gun still in his hand. He took a closer look and saw that the dealer was just a kid!! He most likely wasn't even 17 yet!!! Dante stood there shocked. He was glad the rain was there...because the rain can hide the most bitter of tears. Yes...Dante was crying...he sobbed and put his hand over his mouth. The rain and tears dripped off his cheeks as Dante knelt down and cried...

a...well.. its a coincidence ..i like alternative music ..hence the fact that he plays guitar ..and hiroshi is a guy that i play in some other rp's ..so i just fused them together

Writing Sample:

"So why exactly would you head...there, of all places?" The restaurant owner had only been humouring the peculiar Irishman's often eclectic conversation so far, but his mention of his destination had evoked some kind of genuine response. Aeda could only laugh, although it stayed behind his eyes where it couldn't be heard.

"Why, my dear, it's purely because people like you don't want to go there." Aeda pondered striking a particularly dramatic pose and spieling on about the life of a writer...but the urge passed. Instead he paid the bill for his coffee and walked out the door without another word, wishing there was a breeze to whip dramatically at his hair as he walked to his car.

The 'mysterious wanderer' exit was always one of his favourites, he mused to himself as he put the key in the ignition.

Okay, we have our lineup now, I had to do some rearranging so I hope no problems are caused

Main characters : Pen2 as Aeda Brannagh and magicfangirl as tsutsami Uta (MFG, I chose you because you I didn't want to see you left out and we already had one cop, you must change your character from a cop to something else)

By the way, the relationship between the two mains is that Uta was the only surviving member from the original clock tower murders that happened over a year ago. Aeda Brannagh was chosen to be her guardian and both of them moved from England to America to get as far away as possible. This game takes place in America,not England and Scissorman has not been seen yet, sorry for any inconveniance.

Police detective to be played by Vandread as Dante Tokisaka (sorry if this confused you with what Orochi said, but i'm the creator, my word goes. You had a great character for a cop so I kept you as a cop)

News reporter to be played by OrochiX as Ekin Hu

Two miscellaneous characters are Guildenstern as Martin Staninslaus and Steathassen as Hiroshi Terauchi (Hiroshi, it would be better for myself and the other Rp-ers if you posted in 3rd person as in "Hiroshi talked to God" instead of "Hiroshi talks to God" It's just a bit easier to read,that's all)

anybody that I post up and is not in this thread is an NPC so don't be alarmed when someone like Edward walks in and starts talking to people, lol.

Remember, with the exception of Dante your characters have no guns, no weapons and must rely on your own adrenaline and wits to survive. I will post of floor plans when it gets to that point and I will describe every room that you go into, along with noteworthy items or people. During the Intermission it would be best that if two people are posting in one location (Eg Dante is talking to Brannagh about Uta in the cop shop) and Hiroshi wants to post about him going to the bowlarama, you must put a heading at the top of your post using the post subject field saying where your character is.

Minor clarification, but you mean posting in past-tense instead of present tense. He's already posting in 3rd person ('Hiroshi') as opposed to 1st person ('I') or 2nd person ('You').

And also, Aeda would be the most incompetent guardian ever. But it's your call, I suppose . I'll have to make a few mental changes to my character.
