which one is better his and her circumstances or fruits basket

i was just wonder which on e do you think is better his and her or fruits basket because my friend says it is better and i saw both of them but still is lending towards his and her simily because of the fact that his and her keep that deveploping theme to it i mean like almost every episode had that feelings and the best so far from what i seen of it was when tsbuski had problems with her dad because he was geting marry soon and the one with the story of yukino dad and mom and i say that fruits basket did put the major problems out there with the characters past being mess up and all but thats only here and there not all the time some which one do you think is better his and her or fruits basket far as (story tellings, major problems with characters, and funnyness)

That was the longest sentence I have ever attempted to read.

Let me compare and contrast, for organization's sake:

KareKano - implodes somewhere around episode 16
Fruits Basket - retains high level of quality through the end
winner: Fruits Basket

KareKano - occasionally becomes pretentious and "artsy"; symbolism-abuse
Fruits Basket - unpretentious and direct; no overused symbolism
winner: Fruits Basket

KareKano - spastic, high-energy comedy with lots of SD
Fruits Basket - Daichi Akitaroh.
winner: Fruits Basket

KareKano - features the "dark sides" of the goody-goody overachievers I hated in school
Fruits Basket - features a saintly heroine and a bunch of eccentric weirdos, some of whom are actual adults
winner: Fruits Basket

KareKano - underdeveloped but potentially interesting side characters
Fruits Basket - ...er, ditto?
winner: draw

KareKano - popsicle sticks
Fruits Basket - actual animation
winner: Fruits Basket

But of course, as it goes without saying, that's all just my opinion.

My personal ratings

Kare Kano
CONTENT: 9
CHAR. DESIGN: 8
MUSIC: 10

Pros
- Best romantic comedy ever made
- likeable characters
- heartwarming dialogues & monologues used
- nice theme and BGM

Cons
- The ending & recap episode
- Previous synopsis used in most or all episodes

Fruits Baskets
CONTENT: 8
CHAR. DESIGN: 10
MUSIC: 7

Pros
- no real plot but is well character driven (esp. the Sohmas)
- eyecatching animation (its CGI)
- seiyuu casts

Cons
- open ending (wants season 2, oav or at least a movie)
- Sometimes i can't stand Tohru (she's too naive & a thick headed character).

Edit:
Well they're both shoujo but they're totally different, in terms of the plot. All i can say is that i truly love them both.

Wow, run-on sentences. Gotta take a breather....

Anyway, I personally like Fruits Baskets MUCH more than Karekano.

I probably didn't like Karekano because I don't like the characters that much, and after a while their problems didn't really matter to me. I loved the first few episodes, when they were falling in love. After that, it bored me and I didn't watch it anymore.

Fruits Baskets definitely has many more hot bishie characters, but its not so much a mushy love story as about friendship. And I liked Tohru more than Arima.

Karekano wasn't bad, just not my thing. Its just personal preference really. They're both pretty good series.

Come to think of it, it never occured to me that were that similar, but I guess they are...

I haven't seen the KOR TV so i'm unable to make any comments, but i have KOR: Summer's Beginning (don't know what's going on after seeing this). Unfortunately, i don't live in the US so can't order directly from AnimEigo.

I've seen To Heart. The only problem is that the other characters do not get the time to develop as they deserve to.

Bummer. I picked up the LDs on eBay a while ago. I haven't seen the last movie yet, since fans don't care for it as much as the other stuff.
