Tokyo-3 on Google Earth
After doing some searching through Evangelion websites, I was able to determine where Tokyo-3 is supposed to be located. I found that it is supposed to be located on the north shore of Lake Ashinoko in the Hakone region on the Ito peninsula of Honshu. If you search for "Hakone, Japan" on Google Earth you will find Lake Ashinoko by zooming out to an eye altitude of about 15km and then navigating west until you hit a big lake.
In the attached image you can see that the north shore of the lake is presently occupied by a huge golf course. You can also see that Tokyo-3 would have to be a fairly small city to fit in that north shore area. Apparently Lake Ashinoko and the Hakone region in general are popular tourist destinations. Judging by some photos I saw, it looks like a very nice place.

I don't see any Giant Robots? If Evangelion was real, how old would Shinji be now? Would he be an 8 year old little Emo Kid?

Well...nobody might yet be aware of it, but Gendo Ikari is based off of George Bush! Even though the series was completed four years or so before 2000!
