Wink shameless promotion

Hello. If your looking for a good new PC RPG, I recommend Wizardry 8. You can get it now in the U.S from EB, and it comes out in Australia on Dec 14. I've been playing Wizardry 7 since 1992, and i still play it (hey, i've only got a 486 at home, good for DOS games but not much else...). I haven't heard a bad report about it yet, everyone seems to love it. And it's made by Sirtech, the same company who did Jagged Alliance 2. More info at www.wizardry8.com.

ps. No, I don't work for Sirtech, or any of it's subsidiary companies. I just love their games.

pps. Woohoo! I get to use the net while i'm on holidays!

It's a traditional, first person 3D, 1-6 character party rpg. Wizardry 1 came out in 1981, so it is one of the longest running rpg series ever. It doesn't use D&D rules like BG, but has it's own set of character races and classes. Plus it's been rated top rpg, and 8th best overall game of the year by GameSpot: http://gamespot.com/gamespot/filters...013054,00.html . The combat system is not real-time or turn based, but phased, so it's all decided by a character's speed, dexterity, race, etc. It's a lot more strategical than Diablo 2. All combat is played out in 3D, so you can sneak up and ambush, run away, etc. More info at www.wizardry8.com .

I just went to my coz place [they download so many warez games ] and just saw wizardry 8. Sorry juz_asuka, but I wasn't overly impressed by it It looked difficult to handle but the graphics [from what I saw] were above par. Seeing as it is 2 years old already, as you said, it looks alright. But I don't think it will fare very well against most other RPG's. If you don't mind my saying so, it looks a little too retro
