Entertainment Weekly to have new section on comics...

Saw this at newsarama and thought I would share this with people. And I put it in the manga section because being an Entertainment Weekly subscriber, they do occasionally review transaltions of Japanese comics since I remember they did review Lone Wolf and Cub back when it was first rereleased here. They also say that they're looking to cover a fairly large variety of comics which does include Japanese ones. This is some very good news for people who are looking to see comics in general get a little more coverage in the mainstream media ^_^

That's awesome. Comics are in dire need of the mainstream exposure.

Maybe I'll start reading EW now. I never used to like that magazine.

The funny thing is that I actually respect the magazine a bit more than say Rolling Stone and Spin mainly because they do a fair amount of coverage on indie films and music. It's not necessarily great coverage mind you (I doubt that we'll ever see a full page review of something like Slint or Geraldine Fibbers) but it's coverage nonetheless and I'll take it where I can get it.

True. I've always liked Alternative Press for their coverage of indie stuff, though for a long time they were far too into rap-metal.

And just to bring this right back on-topic, AltPress covers comics and anime every so often too.
