yeah...
websambasasp support goes down at least once a weekl, but it takes about one day to get the confirmation email.. but they have no ads ftp support and NO ADS just ftp

With lycos/tripod co uk you get teh email instantly.. but I havent actually put A site up there but I know that its a speedy server and is probably the bestf ro begginers its got preinstalled counters and how-tos to things like .htaccess and i think you get 50 megs... and of courcse Its god NOT ADS I dont reccommend sites that have ads because thats a major thumbs down for me...they support FTP and browser uploading

aspwebserver the free service is new and I dont have much background injformation on it... but I know that you get 50 megs a cgi-bin and ftp and a subdomain at aspwebserver.com the free hosting they say should be up in march... but they said feb in january...

thats my info on those hosts ill reveiw more later...

1 that i like is DK3.com
It is almost never down but signup is down ALOT so if it is working sign up FAST!
U get pretty much everything u cud want. I like it. There is a small ad, and it can get annoying, but you can force it to close. Ut has unlimited space and bandwidth. You cannot store files there, but I like it anyway.
Of course you could always set up your own server(which i did) which is free and u can have as much space and whatever features you want.

Thats my host review!

I will try to explain, but i cannot garuntee a good job...

Install and configure the webserver

1)Download and install Apache here

2)Install apache

3)create a directory where u will store the site. For this example i am using c:\website

4)Open the apache configuration by going to start, programs, Apache HTTP Server and open the edit configuration file.

5)Search for. DocumentRoot, and set that to the directory of your website..
ie. DocumentRoot "c:\website"

6) Next search for <Directory> and set that to the same thing you set document root to.

ie: <Directory "C:/website">

7)Save the configuration and exit.

8)GO to start, Programs, Apache HTTP server and click start apache in console.

9)Put an index.html file in your website directory, and go to the url http://127.0.0.1 and you should see your file.

Congratulations, you have set up a webserver! If you didn't see your file or have any problems please post here, email me at blue_man_4@hotmail.com or contact me through MSN messenger, blue_man_4@hotmail.com.
Good luck.
I will post PHP setup later.
