There are many unused forums and sub-forums that seem to be cluttering the entire website, many of which are hardly ever used (the Perfect Dark forum is my hidden home where I keep asking if people still play the game...)
Maybe a restructure of the forum culture would bring current posters closer together and new members feel more acknowledged when more people can find/respond to their questions and queries.

Many forums can be dumped and archived cleaning the appearance of the site itself and then being easier to navigate. I usually wouldn't type so much but I felt this was an important issue to share.
This is no demand, and I understand the kind of work it takes to make an idea like this happen so if it's restructured GREAT!, if not then this thread never happened
Yeah it's something that was started (some forums where archived but guess not enough).. but never finished. I'll get around to doing more in due time though.

Guys wanna help out ? easy list all the forums you think should be archived and list all the anime forums that should be created for new series. Can't promise all your wishes would be met, but I'll try as it's AB's 9th birthday http://animeboards.com/showthread.php?t=65962

My liege, I have never doubted that you will return one day to help restore the great digital kingdom of AnimeBoards to its former glory. You are of pure heart and your merciful actions have unleased new hope. Forgive me my liege, but on this wonderful occasion, I feel like writing a thousand paeans ...

This corrupted world;
This sinful hell-hole.
Yet a force shines bright;
Heal the broken soul.

.

Yet this is just the beginning. A long road lies ahead on this glorious journey and we must still grapple with our worst nightmares. But we will prevail. Together, we will prevail.

Not sure if you have a deal with Animenation.com or Animecornerstore.com but
axe the 'Support Animeboards.com' tab at the top and make a link up top (in
between 'Quick Links' & 'Log Out' for example) to say 'Vendors'.

That will bring the news tab to the top.

The community tab looks good but maybe you should bring up the 'Anime
Conventions' forum to here as it's a community/gathering type ordeal.

Anime Series tab is good.

Anime General: Combine magazines/ezines movies/dvd and music together (or
cut magazines since nobody posts in there) leaving fan art & fan fiction at the
bottom.

Anime Manga is good. Maybe just rename it to Manga

Anime Webmasters Talk : I think this should be combined with the 'Gaming' & 'Computing/Hardware' forums, reduce or combine most of the sub forums and ANNIHILATE the 'Perfect Dark' forum

Archive the 'anime industry' tab.

Keep the RPG tab.

Keep the Animeboards Site tab.

DONE!@

That's how I would condense the site and clean it up a little

Hah, I went to find the list of forums I'd collapse on the revival.animeboards thread, but it seems that whole subdomain just redirects back now.

The revival forum was pretty cool. I liked the color scheme.

I just had another idea. I love that there is a forum for each individual anime, but it doesn't make much sense for the board currently. I was browsing the website and within a few minutes I realised a new member had posted in several different anime forums in the past week. He'll be lucky to get a response within a month, especially when some of the threads were started in 2005. Unfortunately I haven't seen him post since last week.
When you get no acknowledgement, you tend to find something better.

So I was thinking in my head, create only 4 forums for anime, A-G, H-M, N-T, U-Z.
With only four forums, you won't have to jump around as much, your posts will more than likely be replied to, you can join into a discussion about an anime you've never seen before and maybe get more involved.

The pro's of this idea go on and on. Discuss...

I think some of the categories need to be re-organized. You have Anime News & Reviews 2009 at the top but Anime Conventions midway down (which counts as anime news).
I would post more but I have to go to work in a couple of minutes.
