question on VPS for website hosting

I currently have a VPS with 2.5 GB RAM and it keeps crashing when hosting a couple websites with little traffic (under 2GB/mo). The VPS provider told me that the VPS needs 2GB just to run the linux OS leaving only 512MB left for the two sites but their website states it's a high performance VPS, I even upgraded one level from base plan. I'm really disappointed to be paying $35/mo and having the VPS server have memory issues.

My question is I'm looking to switch providers as the above is already above my budget. I was thinking about moving to medhahosting but I'm confused. They have 3 main offerings on their webpage.

1. LINUX CONTAINERS with 128 MB RAM
2. FULL VIRTUALIZATION with 128 MB RAM
3. STORAGE SERVERS with 256 MB RAM

I'm not sure if any of these are for hosting websites. Can someone please clarify what I need. Thank you in advanced.
