A good J-pop song

I want to try listening to some J-pop as it is something new to me. Could someone suggest a song or what ever. Preferably one that is really good.

People views of what is 'good' differ.

I suggest you get some music by The Pillows, who produced most of the music in FLCL.

actually, I would consider "The Pillows" to be more jrock, which is also good

If you want jpop, I would suggest some by Ayumi Hamazaki or Maaya Sakamoto

I would suggest anything by Aiko (Try Ai no Yamai, Kabutomashi, and Momoiro) and Dreams Come True (Try "Love Love Love").

Well on that note, listen to the collaboration between DCT and Misia, "I Miss You (Toki wo Koete)". GREAT song.

Also, Every Little Thing is always a favorite. Some good songs are "Somebody, Someplace" and "Over and Over".

there are a lot of nice ones out there. . many stated by the people who've already posted. . . Aikawa n'co are very nice ^^;

X-Japan s'kakkoi. . . one of my favorites. Their music is so unique, whether you want slow nice peaceful songs to sad sweet tunes or hyped up rock to all the others ^^ they have great contrast in their albums and music scores. . . Emotion. . great band. . awesome guitar duets and solos. awesome drummer, and I love the pianist/synthest ^^;
Ya gotta go listen to more of this band.

Hide's music is also VERY nice. . . he's a guitarist part of the famous X-Japan group until his commited suicide sadly ;_; . . . and X-J also disbanded. he did, however, start some of his own songs I believe. . whatever with that, I really like his songs too ^^;;;

T.M. Revolution s'great as well. . . guy has a high voice ^^ the bgm is usually techno/rave-ish with nice synth n'electronical stuff ^^; Lotsa nice songs here.

::sighs:: so many different things.

Gackt Camui is incredible as well. . I am amazed by his voice . . ^^; . . he has one of the biggest and most amazing vocal ranges I've ever heard. . and his voice is nice and mellow. . . his songs are very nice too. . .I really recommend this guy's music.

Er. . lots more to add. . to tired. .

Here's this song that's in my head at the moment: "First love" by Utada Hikaru. *sigh* It just reminds me of something that happened to me in life.

well if you're looking for constant #1 bands/groups/singers on Japan's oricon charts ( kinda like Japanese 'billboards') -
try B'z (they are good ^_^), Ayumi Hamasaki (she's very big in Japan), or...:shudders: Morning Musume (not a fan of their music)

kaaa...

just realised...hmmm what exactly do u mean by:

" Does anyone know what number 1 is in Japan "

i kind of interpereted your question as bands/singers that are number 1 in Japan (hence, my above post ^_^)

if you're asking what's number one now in Japan - it's Morning Musume...

if you're asking what "NUMBER 1" is in Japan/Japanese - it's ichiban

hehe just making sure ^_^

www.orbitune.com

Its basically online internet radio streamed from Japan but most of the site is in English so its easy to navigate.
