Easy. She may be one hell of a composer, but one ass of a person, much like Newton.

Ah, but she isn't. She's easy to get along with, witty, and hyperactive. She does, however, get angry that sometimes people don't understand what she does for a living, since composing is traditionally a man's job.

(I've read quite a few interviews with YK/ with people who know her.)

I wouldn't know. Personally, I don't really trust interviews; they only show what the interview is supposed to show, but then again, I haven't read any of them. As a composer, she has talent. As a person, I don't give a dingo's flying kidney.

Whaddaya mean you don't like the music of Yoko Konno?

I can't believe you said that. I'm going to listen the OST's of Bebop, Macross Plus and GiTS:SAC and laugh at you. A LOT.

Personally, I see Yoko Kanno to be to music what oxygen is to breathing.

Personally I thought many parts of the Escaflowne OSTs were lacking. The frequent chantings of "Escaflowne!" felt very repetitive after hearing that same damn chant in the last song, and the song before that.

Also, pretty much all the battle themes (and most of the rest of the score) came from Gustav Holst’s suite, “The Planets.” The Planets is more well orchestrated as well.

see you space cowboys.

Ah, but that is impossible. You may disagree with Starwind8748, but there is no way an opinion can be "wrong" as it is an opinion.

Personally, while I like Yoko Kanno's music, she is not the be all end all of composers. There are plenty of other excellent composers out there, but most of them aren't as easily recognized. Again, it's an opinion thing.

Yes it can. My oppinion is the ultimate truth... well.. at least when it comes to the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack. Starwind8748 is just lost. We must help Starwind8748 to find the way... or burn him at the stake, burning would be easier though

Oo! Oo! Ritual burning of a heretic! Count me in. No better way to spend a weekend.

Other composers are excellent as well. What I like about Yoko Kanno is that she's able to compose beautiful music in a lot of different styles - just compare the Cowboy Bebop soundtracks to the music from Wolf's Rain. She's not the only great composer of anime music, but she's one of them. Plus, her name is easy to remember...

I have a very good RPG friend who listens to Yoko Kanno's music as inspirational music when he writes. Specifically the Esca soundtrack. I also find that her music can put me in a good mood, can take me to another world...just close your eyes and listen to it in a dark place, and all your worldy cares are gone...

I couldn't agree more. I find her music for Esca to be very inspirational when I write. It's also beautiful to listen to, and can evoke different feelings for each song.

*puts headphones loaded with Esca music back on and closes eyes*
