anyone use Gentoo?

I like gentoo. It's all compiled for your box. No real loss in performance due to pre-compiled binarys. Of course you can do this in any linux distro, Gentoo seems to be the simplest.

Your thoughts?

I am personally a fan of Arch Linux & Slackware.
I have thought about giving Gentoo a try a few times but never got around to loading it on a spare machine.

I've never really used those distro's. I might have to give them a shot on a VM or something. I won't really get the full effect, but it's good to experiment.
