F-ucking Jesus Christ, I've just been to the anime forum advertised in this thread and get a load of this:

It has 29 members and it seems to be more active than AnimeBoards, which has over 5,000 members!

OK, concerning the post quality there, I've read better graffiti in public toilets (actually, I could say the same for a lot of the posts here in 2008, none of which are mine of course), but the point is that this place is neck deep in stale shit.

EDIT: And look at the enthusiasm shown by the owner - the passion and the pride! The confidence to sell a forum's star qualities! This is in complete and utter contrast to what you get from the limp-wristed, dour zombies making up board management here.

Wow, we just started off and were working hard to improve the website each day, at the moment we've removed the main website and we are making a new layout which will take alot of time to get up, so its just a forum for now and a blog

http://animegaia.net

Thing's are slowly been cleaned up and improved, actually right now were adding a whole heap of feature's, including link's and previews to anime serie's, dvd sales etc, and alot more.

As for your comment, it's obvious your just a flamer with no idea what your really talking about, if you dont have any constructive point's to say, dont bother replying because its really sad to be honest

Go troll somewhere else

P.S we are currently even opening recruitement of a better moderator team. it take's time to get a forum together.

I wasn't aware you were looking for any feedback at all, let alone constructive feedback. Have a look at your first post in this thread - sure, you were trumpeting your website like there's no tomorrow, but did you even ask for feedback? Not that I can see. Thus, this thread actually belongs to the "Promotion: exchanging links / staff recruiting" subforum of AnimeBoards, particularly given your attempts at staff recruitment.

As for your claim I don't know what I'm talking about - that's a bloody joke.

Firstly, Anime Gaia, which had 29 members at the time of my post, was more active than AnimeBoards, which has over 5,000 members. That's a fact. Do you want to dispute that?

Secondly, when I visited your forums, it was still a foetus and for the small amount of posts which were there, overall, I have read better graffiti in public toilets. Does that mean post quality cannot improve? No. But I stand by my remark, because that was how I perceived it to be. I know it's fashionable to label people who disagree with you on the Internet as a flamer/troll/etc. (which was not the case when I first ventured onto the big, sh-it world of the Internet), but the simple truth is that this is often a cheap ad hom argument to deflect away legitimate arguments, as in this very thread.

Thirdly, I actually had some positive things to say about your first post, such as the passion, confidence and pride just oozing out of your skin. Indeed, I even made a thread which champions your website as a model against which AnimeBoards should look up to (http://www.animeboards.com/showthread.php?t=63721). But since you're saying I don't know what I'm talking about, does this mean that you're actually not passionate about or proud of your website?

Fourthly, you fail to realise that AnimeBoards is not a nanny state which stifles freedom of speech for the sake of political correctness. You don't go charging into a new messageboard like a bull in a china shop, make a thread in the wrong sub-forum and insult the locals, and expect the locals to give you any respect. Furthermore, you make no attempt at all to join in with the community apart from making posts eulogizing your website. In light of these considerations, your actions seem to be the mark of an extremely rude and uncultured person, especially considering this site, although actually less active than yours, is giving you free advertising space. It's like a boorish liberal blowhard visiting an Aboriginal community and crying about child abuse after seeing them smoke a baby, or the Karmapa Lama going to Beijing and shouting about oppression in the TAR, or a bloody idiot going to Mecca and slaughtering a live pig. You cannot dismiss culture.

Perhaps if you joined in the discussion about your own website at http://www.animeboards.com/showthread.php?t=63721, you may start to redeem yourself. Because at the moment, from the perspective of the AnimeBoards community, you are no better than one of those robo-spammers advertising free Viagra or something.

Also, I don't know what on earth you've done to the colour scheme of your forums. The original white/pink design was fresh and appealing; the new black design dull and uninspiring.

read my reply to the post you made about AG/AB, it explain's my reply to here also , as for tagging you a flamer, yea it feel's like that with some of the word's you used with wasnt exactly constructive at all, you could have worded your post better. simple as that

Because your reply would if anything turn people away from my website, which in turn is unfair to me

As for the skin, were trialing different skins see how they go, if they dont work out we may change back to older skins

oh and as for the wrong sub forum, i dont see how this post is in the wrong subforum, i asked for a review on my website and feedback by posting here, i knew that. but you may also notice it states

"Post your site to gather comments, feedback and reviews by other webmasters. Please provide constructive feedback and no insults!"

hence the no insult's part, i have to say i found your reply rather insulting and hardly constructive

He wasn't insulting you. Well, I suppose the "I've read better graffiti in public toilets" comment was an insult, but I'm guessing that you're actually reacting to, "this place is neck deep in stale ****." The thing is, he wasn't talking to you when he said that. He was talking to the admin and moderators of this board. And "this place" is... this place. Animeboards.

What you don't understand is that John Faulkner is on a crusade. He's been on a crusade to improve the life of Animeboards for a while now, and you came in in the middle of it. Go back, reread his post, and keep in mind that he's posting with the purpose of comparing your board to this one. It's akin to whacking the the mods on this board in the back of the head.

As for your board - I just took a glance. Not my cup of tea, but then I strongly prefer discussions to chatting (also, I haven't seen any of the anime shows that are listed under "General Anime"). It also seems... really broad. Do you really want it to be that broad? I mean, you have sections for "Life and Politics," and "Computing."

And I have to agree with John about the skin. It's kind of hard on the eyes. And I have a really hard time reading the "ANIME GAIA" header.

Other than that, I too liked how proactive you've been in the board, and the fact that you actually participate in the anime discussions and provide news and such.

That's about it - like I said, I just took a glance.

Read my reply in the AG/AB thread to see how utterly wrong you are about me turning people away from your website, and how I have constructively appraised your board management plans (e.g. hentai forum).

As for my comments in this thread not being constructive: at the time, I drew attention to the fact that the posts in your forum shows a lack of thought and hence there was a need to improve this. In addition, I highlighted how your proactive nature is in stark contrast to board management at AnimeBoards, thus identifying one of the key ingredients that is missing for AnimeBoards. It's quite simple, I was being constructive.

It's too dark and the flourescent pink against this darkness really bugs up the eyes.

You didn't ask for feedback in your first post, unlike other threads in this subforum, e.g. http://www.animeboards.com/showthread.php?t=60400, http://www.animeboards.com/showthread.php?t=60356, http://www.animeboards.com/showthread.php?t=57698

However, it is noted that a lot of people make the same mistake as you and just plug their website without asking for comments like any courteous person would. What can I say, the Internet's full of rude people.

It doesn't matter what you think because the objective fact is that I didn't insult you and I have been constructive. I just told it like it is - you know, like reviewers and critics do.

LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! Many are they on Internet forums that rise up against me.
Many there be which say of my soul, there is no help for him in God. Selah.
But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.
I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.
I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people on the Internet, that have set themselves against me round about.
Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.
Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.

Join up and post on AnimeBoards all ye unbelievers, or else perish by the flaming sword that is spewed forth by the Almighty Lamb! Rise sinners and repent for the hour of the LORD has come and he will smite you like Sodom and Gomorrah, he will send a mighty flood to destroy all who disobey and he will crush all pagans with fire and brimstone like he has crushed Pharoah! Lo! These are the seven seals of the mild and merciful, yet dangerously powerful, Anointed One! He is f-ucking Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. May God bless you with the Holy Spirit. Amen.

It's refreshing to see an anime site not based around downloads. Not a fan of the portal because of navigations and you're guest announcement is odd. You can't register unless you have one of those few?
