I've been re-reading my old Blame! volumes, and eagerly awaiting the french release of Noise (april 14th), even though I probably won't even be able to go buy it by then. :/

Just finished reading the latest Oh My Goddess! TPB, Hand In Hand - only to discover that I'd missed the previous one, Queen Sayoko - oops, seems like it has some fairly important storylines in it as well.

I'm getting behind on Chobits as well, as I did'nt buy the fourth one recently on the grounds that much cuteness could well prove to be terminal (three Goddesses and a persocom?).

Been reading the first few comics of GITS II. Jawdropping artwork but I can't help feeling that Shirow may have lost his way amongst all of the clever references to emerging technologies he's crammed in (I feel like I need a degree to read the demn thing !)

I'm far happier with the Appleseed content being released in SMB! recently. Gotta love those Landmates . #28 even has a cover of Deunan with what looks to be a next gen P90 : best . gun . ever.

Manga I am reading now: Fruits Basket. I'm at Volume 7.

Other manga series I am collecting and reading: Getbackers, Hellsing, E's and New Vampire Miyu. Two weeks ago, I bought the very last volume - #28 - of Lone Wolf and Cub and I am still waiting for the perfect time to sit down and read it.

Hmmm...

Blade of the Immortal
Chobits
Full Metal Panic!
Azumanga Daioh
Petshop of Horrors
Inuyasha
Ranma
Scryed

Basically, the series that are coming out in English. I'm too lazy and incompetent to struggle through Japanese manga.

Right now I'm just reading the stuff that's in the US Shonen Jump magazine since I recently started a subscription and ordered all the back issues -- Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, One Piece, Sand Land, Shaman King, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Yuyu Hakusho. I also have Ghost in the Shell and recently ordered both volumes of the Onegai Teacher manga. I'll probably get to those once I'm caught up on Shonen Jump. I also need to buy the Love Hina manga series. There are some others that I'm considering, but I haven't really decided on which ones I almost definitely want to buy.

Curse you fireguy. I am still looking for more and more Alita, I absolutely love it but can only find three or so retail.

My current list:
Priest - to eight right now
Kare Kano - to four right now
Excel Saga - to one

and probably going to pick up FLCL.

I didn't feel like making a new thread about this since, well, new threads on manga series' barely get any posts and attention and drop off so quickly. Therefore, I shall semi-hijack this thread.

I just started reading Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou and I have to say, it's one of the nicest mangas I've read. Evar. The pacing, the style, and especially the characters are so relaxed and laid back. It's a real serene manga. Mangas like this tend to feel slow and plotless, but I don't feel that at all w/ this manga.

Anyway, it's sorta on topic since that is a new one I'm currently reading. I just had to post about it somewhere.

edit: Oh, and I chose to post in this thread because there were a few others who were reading this manga. I figured, it's the best place to get some form of a conversation going.

Yokohama is my favorite manga of all time. It's moody without being depressing, dreamy without being boring, evocative without being controversial. I would read this even without the translations 'cause the art is enough to draw me into that world. There are not enough superlatives for it and it is unfortunate it is not widely read as it should be.

I'm reading Hikaru no go. Although, I hear the ending isn't that great...
