Ok, these are both pretty old, right? And they are both pretty good, right? So which one is better/more fun? Since I like Eva and Trigun and Nadesico and Lain and Cowboy Bebop, which of these two would I like better?

Basically, someone else make the decision for me!

Gunbuster is good, and pretty short. It's got it's share of mecha and action, but there are several other sub-plots running alongside it. Packs a lot into 6 episodes, though, and it stays exciting to the end.

For Gundam, it depends on which series. If Gundam W or X, it's pretty fast-paced and fun action, lots of mecha-stomping, but require more commitment at 40+ episodes each (and some deep plots). Neither are old, like 1995-97. They're both independent to the other Gundam shows, so you won't miss much except background info. Most of the other Gundam titles are pretty heavy and interconnected, more about questioning the politics of war than anything else. Not entirely "fun," but still amazingly good, especially Zeta.

So.. based on the shows you listed, I'd probably go for Gundam Wing, then Gunbuster. Then Gundam X, and then maybe the "other" Gundams if you like X's politics (like 10+ series, you'll be busy ^^). Strange... are you shopping in alphabetical order? Don't forget Gunsmith Cats and Gundress ^__^

Personally, I would go with Gunbuster first...

It was THE Gainax flagship prior to EVA and deservedly so
(at least to me)

p.s. I actually prefer Gunbuster to EVA because it is a complete story with a good ending.

So is Gundam Wing the first Gundam show? and how many episodes is it?

By the way, I wasn't really going in order, but I guess I might as well look into the ones mentioned.... being a huge Otaku and all. I HAVE seen a couple episodes of Gunsmith Cats.... good stuff.

I don't think Wing is the 1st Gundam, avtually I think it's one of the newest ones. There are just so many Gundam shows it's hard to keep track you know?

Watch Gunbuster, I mean hey, it's short, it's cool and it's Gainax. What more could you need?

I'm not sure if this list is in order, but I think these are some of the titles in the Gundam series;

Mobile Suit Z Gundam
Mobile Suit Gundam 0083
Mobile Suit Gundam 0079
Mobile Suit Gundam The 08 MS Team
Mobile Suit Gundam 0080 War in the Pocket
Mobile Suit Gundam Stardust Memory
Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ
Mobile Suit Gundam Char's Counter Attack
Mobile Suit Gundam F91
Mobile Suit V Gundam
Mobile Fighter G Gundam
New Mobile Report Gundam W
New Mobile Report Gundam W Endless Waltz
After War Gundam X
Turn A Gundam

:B:

I think Gunbuster is better, but then again, I've only seen the movie Gundam F91, a crazy SD Gundam series, and only the beginning of Gundam Wing. Also, I don't think Gunbuster is available on DVD (yet).

Geez, thats a lot of Gundam!!! (or, GUNDAMMIT!!! ) As of now, I've seen episodes 1 and 2 of Gunbuster, and episode 1 of Gundam wing. Gundam seems to have a lot of characters, and I like that... especially if they are well developed. I like Gunbuster, but I don't want to like it too much, cuz it's only 6 episodes. () I'm afraid I'll get too into it, and then it will be over. So far, Gunbuster has a better story and is developing characters very nicely, but Gundam has more action..... in short, I like them both so far.

I did like the scene in Gundam (it's in episode 1, so it's not a huge spoiler) when the Gundam pilot brushes past the high-school girl and whispers "I'm going to kill you" -- Very harsh! Very cool! Very well done!

...since you like Trigun, have you considered Rurouni Kenshin? There are many similarities between the two heroes.

....oro!?
