pci express 16x vs agp 8x

i just recently ordered the new asus PAD2 or some such mother board along with a ati 9800 pro agp 8x bus and 1 stick ddr ram.
couple questions:
PLEASE tell me i didn't do something stupid when I bought an apg card when i didn't realize the video bus on the motherboard is pci express 16x?! will the video card still work?

I wish I could, but AGP Cards do not fit into PCI Express Slots.

blarg. alright newegg has some good return policy's. gotta go find a card that has a pci express 16x slot now...

I think I'm holding off on any new upgrades until PCI Express and SATA become the norm. I'm not really hurting for any performance boost right now, even though my system isn't all that current.

(also kinda curious which format will win the next-gen DVD writing war)
