Vid card died need advice

Ok my agp a400 (nvidia 6800gt) card died last night so i need a new agp card.

Hard to find but i see two possibilities, one is the

Leadtek 7600GT

and the 2nd is

Powercolor 256 ATI Radeon X1950PRO

both are about 200-230$

Which will be the better card, I paid $700+ for my 6800 and wont pay that much again till i upgrade fully in a few years.

Though to be honest i run 3 heavy graphic programs at the same time so a 512mb card would probably be good to.

I dont want to go backwards but im not paying more than 250 to replace this card

I don't know what site's the best to order from in Australia though.

sorry hear ATh ...

my input on cheaper Aussie prices check out

512MB 7600GT AGP search at http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/...2mb+7600gt+agp

512MB X1950 Pro AGP search http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/...+X1950+PRO+AGP

Reputable retailers i would recommend from that search results would be

Skycomp Technology
Tek Corp
Stonebridge Computing
Scorpion Technology Computers
Pricepoint Computers

X1950 Pro AGP probably the highest end AGP card available right now... if you're ok with double slot card for quietness this one from stonebridge probably would do http://www.stonebridgecomputing.com....1ea717e9795617

Both of those cards are better than the card that your doing away with. Something to keep in mind however is that the 7000 series Nvidea cards have had over heating problems.
I had a 7900gt 256mb RAM from ASUS that overheated. Luckely ASUS has a 3 year warrenty on all their ---- and I got a brand new 7950gt 512mb ram for free!

Yeah some of the included games are pretty old but still it's the video card that counts

ATh, glad it's all working for you
