Who has it? Worth getting? I heard the visual quality isn't that great. I'm referring to the OVAs, not the TV series. I've rented the first three tapes and I'm willing to spend the cash for such a great anime, but only if it's watchable.

I'll have to get back to you on this. I've had it for a while now, but I cannot remember if there were any issues with the DVD or not. I had the tapes for several years and bought the DVD just to have it on DVD. I don't think I've actually watched it all on DVD yet.

As for the show itself, its worth every penny.

Its worth getting, the quality is definitely better and the only problem is the overlays during the song sequence in about ep 4 or 5. Get it, its great considering that te masters are so old

Now I gotta find it someplace...Oh, I wasn't concerned about the show itself. I'll get the set even if I haven't finished it on VHS yet! I really like the change in themes I'm used to. I was really into AD&D when younger and the classic dragons/swordplay/magic plot grabbed me instantly.

It's pretty good. I'm satisfied, but I wish there were more extras besides the lame convention thing...

i agree. the extras weren't that great at all.

as for video, it was pretty decent on my tv. as for the sound, i believe the jap track is in dolby stereo but the eng is ... in 5.1? don't quote me on that. i've got it upstairs but i'm too lazy to go look right now.

the only big prob i had with the thing is the aformentioned hard subs during the song. if you have the soft subs on, they STILL appear during the song, so you'll have two sets of subtitles at the same time overlapping each other. stupid stupid stupid ....

It's like the production companies don't hire anime addicts to preview their efforts for approval...I heard there were som issues with the Eva vol. 1 DVD and hard subbs.

Record of Lodoss War is the best classic series that there is. i know it will ALWAYS be one of my favourites. if you like ANY type of classic Magic casting Medieval fantasy, then you'll love it.

the DVD boxset is my pride and joy^^

I got my DVD set a while ago and I enjoyed it all the way through. I didn't notice any real problems at all with the quality of the picture. If you really like the story then I'd say go for the DVD set!

Well I have the dvd set. It's really great, I have no complaints. Like most DVDs thhe picture and sound quality (for both languages) are crisp. Um, so yeah It's worth it ^_^.

*cough* if you like fantasy/swordplay anime get the Arslan DVD set too *cough*

Well, I got the ROLW OVA DVD set while the forums were down (convienient!). As far as I can see/hear, there are no issues with the quality. I can't wait till I get this over to my friends' house! I'd never heard the English dub before, and was pleasantly surprised. This set is highly recommended! :B:

Split perfectly in half. Why can't other series be like that? *grits teeth*
