I saw the first few episodes of Now and then, Here and there, way back, and i've always wanted to see the rest of the series. It just seemed so amazing.

I'm up to Naruto episode 177 right now.

I pretty much sat in awe of 132-133. So good.

Legend of Himiko Eps 1-12: This series took me quite a while to get through; normally a 12-13 episode series is gonna take me a couple of days at the most to watch all the way through. Himiko took me well over a week to watch, in fact I ended up re-watching R.O.D The TV series in between the 1st & 2nd DVD's. Hmm. Whilst the story is kinda interesting & the plot threads are resolved quite nicely, the character development was static at best. Too many of the characters were just cyphers, which made the series rather dull. A very mediocre series when compared to the likes of Now & Then, Here & There, which was the show I watched prior to this. Perhaps I'm expecting too much from my anime these days.

You should get the rest & watch it all the way through dude. I knew nothing about the series before I watched it & I was completely awed by it. Powerful stuff.

I quite liked the opening theme to Legend of Himiko, other than that it was a very unsatisfying fantasy series. I agree with you EVA fiend, there was such a large cast of characters but no real development of any of them. I really can't remember much of the series besides something to do with some special fire I think?

Sad to say, that was about the only thing I liked about the series too. That, & the chara design for Imari, the swordswoman. Everything else is kinda forgettable, & oh, the flame thingy? It's some sorta spirit god named the Bokka.

Blue Gender Eps 1-26: When I watched the first episode of this show, I thought that this was an anime version of the Hollywood bug hunt movie Starship Troopers. It has a lot of bloody violence, some gratuitous sex scenes, & an intriguing (if somewhat confusing towards the end) plot, but IMO the main strength of this series is the interaction & emotional development of the two main characters Yuji & Marlene. The former half of the series was more interesting IMO, as the latter half gets a little bogged down with all the political twists & turns of the back story, but I enjoyed the series a lot due to the character development. All-in-all, a cool sci-fi drama series. And I really like the end theme "Ai Ga Oshiete Kureta" a lot too.

The boxset also came with the movie version of the series called Blue Gender - The Warrior. It consists of clips taken from the TV series, reworked with new animation, has more emphasis on action, & a tweaked storyline that gets rid of most of the supporting cast & simplifies the back story. It's not bad as a alternative story, but it lacks the character depth that made me interested in the TV series in the first place. Oh, one thing that did bug me (pardon the pun) about the movie is that the sub track was either out of sync, missing, or just translated really badly. I didn't notice anything as bad in the TV series, so it kinda hacks me off that Funimation would let the movie version out with all the errors.

Lunar Legend Tsukihime Eps 1-12: I bought this series coz the artwork I had seen online for the anime & game was very cool. Unfortunately, the series itself was a bit of a let down. The characters developed well over the course of the show & the storyline was interesting. It's just that for a vampire show, I was expecting a bit more action; I wanted to see a big ass fight between Arcueid & Ciel, but it didn't happen, & the final showdown was a little weak too IMO. Not a bad show by any means, but just a little too sedate for my tastes to be honest.
