well i think that when she said mama she was dreaming something that happened in the past if you know what i mean. like her mom dying right in front of her eyes and she fell asleep next to shinji because he was the only person that she could be near... you know like someone to cry on

And it worked too... like I was saying you never can truely understand the workings of a woman's mind... me being one and not understanding myself being solid proof of this  But I think Asuka really does need Shinji no matter how much she tries to act otherwise... deep down they are the same only the display it differently.
