It's not really his fault he can't do it. No matter how we try sometimes what we want others to be they just can't be. People never really change just look at his reaction to Asuka in EOE is that a healthy reaction?

No you are who you inherently are... thing can affect this in certain ways but for the most part yu stay that way... and well... i don't blame her (as much as I love Asuka and Shinji as a couple) I would be sick too... she wanted to be alone... and yet well.... hmm... I guess she might as well have been emotionally alone still eh?

Yes I'm afraid in this instance 2 is the loneliest number. Being "alone" with someone else is so much worse than being just alone. At least then you don't have a constant reminder of the distance.

Hmm... this is very true... Asuka is stuck with someone who will never stop beig absorbed in himself long enough to be what either of them need.... I mean... i don't know what i mean... i need more sleep. This is depressing the hell out of me talking about it.

Yes i think that after several pages of conversing you have managed to dissillusion me completely about Asuka and Shinji being a happy little couple *grumbles* Now that is depressing... but I think a little debbie will bring out a smile on me.

Does she really like him or is he just a challenge to her supremacy. She wants what she can never truly have, human nature. By their reactions I think they are similar in someways but there is a vast difference somewhere in their souls. Rainy days aren't all that bad, I've been listening to Beethoven all morning and I'm no worse for the wear.

Yes I think that is why she goes after him the way she does... I mean... not only can't she have him (at least in the form she wants) but the challenge of him is quite fun for her i think. Very much the same reason she goes for Kaji.... it's safer for her to try to attain the unattainable... because well.. they can't get really close enough to hurt you in more thana superficial manor.

I just don't see her having any reaction other than I feel Sick to him. She dispises her own weakness why would she like his anymore. Also on this topic do you think she got to see the hospital scene during Third Impact. There's something to think about.

Maybe that was yet another reason she felt sick... because that was one of the highest displays of his weakness. Yeah... Asuka hates anything and everything about herself that would be considered weak and tries to destroy it in herself and everyone else that much is true. So what does she really need then?

Someone who doesn't multiply her problems with their own I think. I think a younger Kaji type would be perfect someone she doesn't have to mother.

Yeah definately an Kaji type not quite as old as Kaji (legal reasons and all) but like a coupe of years older... I don't see Asuka stooping down to a level of a 14 year old boy.
