Record of Lodoss War Forum

Hey, why don't we have a Record of lodoss War forum. It could be for both the Record of Lodoss War OVA, the Chronicles of the Heroic Knight TV series, the Lady of Pharis Manga, and if any of you are familiar with them at all, the original 7 novels and the original RPG.

If any of you have not seen it, I suggest you do, it is really good, and if you want classic Fantasy with Elves and mythical realms, you can look no further than Record of Lodoss War. In fact, it would be one of the first fantasy animes to get a forum on here. The only animes that resemble fantasy that I think have boards on this site are Escaflowne and El Hazard (I know there is an Escaflowne board, but I'm not sure if there is an El Hazard one).

I really liked the OVA (got the DVD box set!), but I can't see much discussion about it besides the general questions that always pop up every other week or so. Of course, I never saw the TV series or read the manga...

You should watch the TV series. The animation isn't as good as the OVA because its only a TV series budget, but the fantasy storyline is great. Also, since the novels are not available in America, its the closest thing to reading them because unlike the last 5 episodes of the OVA, the TV series actually tells the events of post-war of heroes closer to that of the original novels. In fact, they are almost the same except for small dialogue changes.

The manga is pretty nice too, it also follows the novels pretty closly and has some information in it not found in the OVA.

Of course, I'd love to read the load of novels and short stories that have been written, and maybe even play the pen and paper RPG's, but they aren't available here in America. We need some sort of petition for that.

i dont know if it such a good idea to put up another forum for an anime series. there are lots of forums now on this site about different series, but some have a very low frequencented.

i'm definitely up for a Record of Lodoss War Forum. we could not only have discussion on the OAVs, television Series, tabletop RPG, Manga, and Novels, but also the new Record of Lodoss War RPG Game that was recently released for N64 {i believe} samn, i neEd to play that.

none the less, there's always the AD&D discussions we could have based on the RPG as well. i personally think this should be the nExt Forum brought to us.

Anyway, I believe the RPG was released for DreamCast, though it will most likely be on PC also. Yeah, I'd like to have a forum where all of that could be discussed, as well as a petition to have the novels brought over to America.

Just bumping this up to add my support for a Record of Lodoss War forum... I've been trying to increase the amount of anime related posts I'm making and I think that a new forum on a series that I love would help bring some more anime discussion around here... I know I'll have a few threads to start there if it is created...

I know I could just start the threads in Other Anime but they would probably just be pushed down to the bottom by other threads and all of my questions wouldn't be answered...

I think it would be a great idea. Quite a few people here like Lodoss and I think they would like to talk to others about just Lodoss every once in a while.

I disagree... It certainly has a lot more to discuss than some of the other forums that are already here... I mean there are 39 episodes to the series in total and a whole bunch of novels... Trigun only has 13 episodes and it got it's own forum... I think there's a lot more to discuss about Lodoss than there is about Trigun...
