I liked sephiroth a lot great villian.
But i choose Broly if i wanted to be a villian i would probably want to be him. Who wants to be a good guy anyway.

Ok guys, don't laugh at me for this...Sailor Galaxia from Sailor Stars (Sailormoon) She was pretty evil, I mean her voice almost sounded like the pure evil, and she even turned into a demon in the last episode, she killed her servants, and she stole everyones star seeds thats pretty evil if u ask me

I'll argue that Gendou was a good person merely acting for selfish pursuits (best evidenced by his rare display of emotion in End of Evangelion).

Picking the Ultimate Villains in all of anime is tough. Not many truly good villains exist in the medium but if anything my pick is Tetsuo from Akira. Stan Lee, co-founder of the Marvel Universe, said it best in reference to villains, "The best villains are always the ones that if it hadn't been for one twist of fate they could have been heroes". To me, the best villain that exemplifies this is Tetsuo Shima, who had he chosen to use his powers responsibly could have led mankind in a golden age. That's not the case and the young boy comes into posession of powers he neither understands and in the end could not ultimately control. He unnerves those he called his friends and even kills one of them. Kaneda (definitely one of the great Anime protagonists) only goes up against his former best friend at the end in order to stop him from causing more chaos even though he knows that Tetsuo isn't all that bad of a guy. To be honest, that final scene in Akira inside the black hole where Kaneda relives his and Tetsuo's childhood is heartwrenching and it's sad to see such a bright individual with so much promise ultimately destroy himself. If I had to say anything, Tetsuo is the anime equivalent of Dr. Doom.

The only anime character that has ever scared me, I mean one that actually provokes fear and disgust in me is the villain from Yami no Matusei. I forgot his name, but if he's supposed to be a hot looking silver-haired bishie villain, he just SCARES me. I can't even see the hotness. And I've only seen three episodes and think he is EVIL!!!!!! His eyes....his perverted messed up mind....ugh....I don't think I'm watching this series anymore.

On another note, Nakago was a definately one SOB to contend with all SOBs. He turned evil manipulation into an artform and brought it to a higher level.

And Gendou, the selfish phedophilic (sp?) bastard!

The guy who was obsessed with Mima in Perfect Blue. *shudder*

And Big Fire yeah! Allegiance or Death! Big Fire!

I REALLY need to see Cowboy Bebop....

In my book, villains are a direct contrast to the hero.
Therefore, the good ones need to fill a certain amount of criteria:

- The villain must have a good motivation.
- Just like the hero, the villain needs to work for his victory.
- And whilst the hero is charismatic, the villain has to be threatening.
- And ditto to the Stan Lee quote (thanks Project Akira!)

That said, I like Shishio (Kenshin), Mason (BGC 2040) and Gendo (Eva).

I'm aware that this is a long dead thread, but I thought I would just add another opinion to this. I personally think the ultimate villain of all time is Dr Kisugi from Boogiepop Phantom. She's not uber powerful like some of the other suggestions, but she has the greatest sadistic streak I've ever seen in anime and her actions speak volumes in terms of how stylishly evil she is, and the sixth Boogiepop novel just emphasizes this.

Even though I'm not a fan of the show, Naraku was a great villain (at the start at least). I like how he manipulated everyone into the ultimately hating him. But after I realized that he could've killed Inuyasha numerous times, I thought he was kind of a pussy.

But in his prime, I'd say he was one of the best villains ever made by any entertainment medium. The Shredder would be second.

Cool sig, love that Tupac song (not sure if the part you're using was ripped-off from another song).
