Aoshi vs Okina

I just saw the episode where they fight, and Aoshi whoops the old man's but with his Kodachi technique, but Okina survives... this leads me to believe that Aoshi didn't intend to kill him at all - am I right?
I mean he cut him up, but managed not to hurt any vital organs or major arteries - you can sew up someone's flesh but you can't fix these things so easily

Correct assumption, Mr Dazman.

As shown later, Shinomori Aoshi is shown to be a perpelxed individual, who is still ill at peace and torn between his love for his surrogate family and avenging the honor of his fallen comrade at arms.

Hence, although driven beyond reason by obsessive hatred, the love and respect of his hidden true self for Okina prevented him from truly delivering a fatal blow.

Cool, I got something right for once, but I gotta wait over a month to see the rest of the Kyoto arc, that sucks - dang uni anime society won't play over the holidays

He never wanted to kill anyone,just to prove he is the strongest man in the world to honor the Oniwa-Banshu

Its not that he didn't want to kill anyone, sure there was a great personal conflict within him while he was fighting Okina because it was a senseless fight. It would do nothing to help the Oniwa Banshu rest. If you recall, Aoshi became so powerful by giving in to his evil part. It was one of Okinas last remarks after losing I think.

heh well not a member, I just heard from a friend that they were showing Kenshin on Tuesdays, and since I'd seen every episode till just before Kyoto I decided to go watch! 'twas a good decision, I'll probably join up officially next semester though...

So are you a member ?

I've been meaning to join, bit late now I guess with tomorrow the last day of term for me anyway. Ronin, when and where do they meet? I'll probably join up next semester some time.

All you need to do is speak to Silvia, the short Asian commitee girl with glasses, tell her you want to join. Give her five dollars and your student number (or similar identification), along with relevant contact details.

Do this ASAP or at the start of next semester. Then Snap, Crackle and Pop, you'll be a 3WA member with your very own card!!

Though the role of an organiser is not truly an official part of my profession, I would be more than willing to spread the word at the next 3WA meeting, which incidentally would be its Winter Marathon.

It would occur on the 5th of July in the Public Lecture Theatre of the Old Arts Building in Melbourne Universtiy, running from approximately 10AM-5PM.

yeah I thought that didn't sound right... I'm definately heading in for that, I got a paintball skirmish the day before though so I'll probably pass out half way through

is there an entry fee for the marathon? I'm thinkin I'll sign up membership when I go in for that, but if there's entry I gotta bring more $$... PLT's a great venue though its enormous, a heck of a lot comfier than the Laby and its heated
