Red face "Battlefield Earth" Anime?!?!?

:sigh: Poor Mr Travolta, with such an illustirous career behind him, it is difficult to even comprehend what POSESSED him star in the traversity that is Battlefield Earth.

He lost Big-Time financially when he requested a salary based upon a percentage of the film's earnings. He got his biggest payment a year and a half later to appear at a Sci-Fi convention for its screening : $700,000 dollars US. Sad considering he could demand $20 Million per role.

Now, a new traversity is about to dawn; The producers of Battlefield Earth, arrogantly confident that they could better reproduce the grandeur of the original novel through the animated medium, have gone to Japan SPECIFICALLY for the purpose of producing a 26-Episode American funded series based upon events during and after the film (The film only portrayed HALF the events of the monstrously long 600 page source material).

If this series becomes what people view anime as, we had better start hiding.

Hmmm I'm not too sure what to make off that,

I kinda went in and out off a coma watching the movie,

I hope that the anime will at least be somewhat off an improvement

((I canít say I know anything about the novel)),

But if they say it will be more true to the story
Ya never know *_*

I actually saw the movie on video the other day..., I was expecting it to be really, really bad...., but instead, I was just bored.., it's not that bad..., just really boring..., if you wanna see a bad movie, watch Spice Girls : The Movie..., now that is utter crap...,

As for an anime based on the book..., hmm.., you never know..., it might be good..., *looks hopeful* : But, I guess we'll have to wait & see...., *starts looking for a hiding place*

I believe it had at least part to do with him being a Scientologist, since L. Ron Hubbard's Battlefield Earth is supposed to have something to do with Scientology. *shrug*

I hope they get laughed out of the country.

I hope they make it. I read the book, waited for the movie when I heard it was coming out, which it felt was okay but would have been better to watch on video and like most movies almost nothing like the book.

With 13 hours to work with instead 2-3 they should be able to fit all the book from beginning to end.

And hay I loved the the spice girls movie, it was hilarious. (Okay so I love british Humor, War, the Care bears and Rainbow Bright.
Scared yet? Hahaha)
