Sadly, Fruits Basket is not available in the USA. It is still coming out in Japan, and I believe they've gotten to DVD 4 in Japan. Which is great, if you don't need subtitles and have a region 2 encoded DVD player.

For those of us who don't...well, it gets tricky. There is the manga, which is very cute (I'm currently in the process of collecting as much Fruits Basket stuff as I can). From what I can tell, the story is pretty close in both the anime and the manga, although some things have been changed.

If you're looking for more information about the series, try going to Anipike. They have several sites listed for Fruits Basket, and they may have more information. My current favorite Furuba sites are:

Fruitz - Character profiles, images, links, etc. Lots of information. This was the first site that I found.

Daiquiri - This is more of an image gallery than anything else, but they do have some links and information, as well as images from other series by the creator of Fruits Basket.

Fruit Medley - Again, lots of information, and their information is mostly different than the information at Fruitz. This site also has links to other sites.

I hope this is helpful. I really love this series, and I'm glad to see other people are enjoying it as much as I am.

I've watched a little of Fruits Basket and I've found it do be a very good and nice looking anime - I'm also liking the theme and plot of it.
I belive there's a thread talking about the anime a page or so back, you might want to see if you can find that.

I don't think most guys like Fruits Basket but i don't know why, i am actually kind of into this series. It really kewl and sweet, yaya i know i sound kinda corny for a guy but thats just want i think

i usually don't like shoujos but this one is an exception, i've seen up to eps 10, can't wait for more.

Lets see... its shoujo.... and yea there are guys out there who watch these types of shows as well (raises his hand)... Overall its extremely cute and fun to watch. Its also a good way to get any girl into anime if they aren't into it (after all... snagging girls into the realm of anime with DBZ doesn't really work ya know? ) But I'd recommend it to any one who is into the romance with a twist sorta deal and what not.

As shadowbard said, no its not commercially released, but there are fansubs out there... so its only a matter of knowing where to go and get it (remember... no asking for links on here. )

Who are you asking Takahashi? Me?

I'm actually responding to Hanzos speculation that guys generally don't like this sort of anime.

I think me and a lot of other guys, had responded to the previous Fruits Basket thread, I am just pointing that fact out. Then again I am never one to avoid a shoujo animes, no matter what the theme is, I am going to based my opinion after I have seen it. Right now I am watching Hana Yori Dango, Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou another shoujo animes and loving them as much as FB.

Fruits Basket is a really cool and kawaii series. It actually has watching precedence over Hellsing right now if you can believe that. It has good comedy, but also some nice dramatic moments. One of my fav episodes was the one explaining Hatori's past with Kana. Very sad... Oh yeah, baka neko rules!

baka neko and wait till you see black Haru, though my favorite character is Shigure(the Inu).

The music is also great in this anime, I like the opening song the most it sound so sweet.
