Reiko yawned and stood, stretching. Her coveralls were spattered with paint and her glasses were slipping down her nose. Bits of white and blue paint clung to her face like her freckles. Her reddish brown hair was bundled under a bandana. Yuzukashi-sensei, the head of the drama department, was talking with Mirumota-sensei, the theater's technical director. If they changed the color of the set, she'd kill them. She's been painting the damn thing for four hours already.

Drama wasn't Reiko's thing. She wasn't terribly good at talking in front of people. What few friends she had described this as stage fright. Reiko just thought of it as prudence.

She could handle technical theater. She was good with the lights board and the sound board and she could build sets relatively well.

"Kurata-san," Mirumota-sensei called up to her. "Why don't you call it quits for today? You were here until eleven last night!"

Reiko checked her watch. "I guess so, sensei. I'll see you tomorrow!" She cleaned out her paintbrush, put away her supplies and lifted her backpack. She had just enough time to stop at home, take a shower and change, and then get over to the Kanzaki residence. Kanzaki-san, a kind woman with calm eyes, needed her to watch Mika-chan, her six year old daughter.

The afternoon sky of Kamakura glinted off the Sagami Bay and Reiko smiled, breathing in the spring air.

Chigusa figured she had lucked out by being able to duck out of practice for a half hour. Not that Chigusa minded staying after school, in fact she spent as much time at school as she could. But it was sooo boring. She knew her lines and her posistions on stage.

She could even say it with feeling, unlike most of the hack job actors and actresses Kamakura had. She knew exactly what to say and how to say it. Chigusa could and had brought her audience to tears. Tears of both joy, and sadness.

But at the moment Chigusa just wanted to enjoy the sun and fresh air.

Untill she spotted Reiko. The girl was covered in paint and looked to be in a hurry. How perfect!

"Hey Kurata!"

Now what?

Reiko stopped and sighed, looking over her shoulder at the approaching form of Chigusa. She looked fresh and lovely and confident as always. Reiko felt like a toad.

"Konnichiwa, Mitsuguri-san," Reiko said politely, waving distantly. Maybe the bus would come and take her far, far away. Reiko reached up and wiped at a smear of paint on her cheek and offered Chigusa a nervous smile. The girl was a shark. She'd been making Reiko's life a living hell since they were children.

She's the kind of girl Nakamura-sempai would like. Reiko pursed her lips. She's got everything going for her.

Hoping to escape the conversation, Reiko looked for the bus.

Touji was slouching in his chair, the constant droning coming from the other side forced him to use every bit of will power to resist falling asleep
He tried to focus on listening to the words being spouted out by the chubby man, but every few seconds he'd find his thoughts drifting away to, say a world full of faeries who only country dance, and like get chased down by pidgeons who hunt them for food and...
Touji felt an impact on his arm, he shook his head and realised the droning had stopped, he turned to the face next to him, his friend Harold was looking back
"Heh heh... You fell asleep. I told you that you wouldn't make it this time..."
Touji looked around then rubbed his eyes
"Dammit. I guess I should have gotten some more sleep last night to make it through this..." Touji stood up "Well, I'll see you later Harold."
Touji then wandered out of the University and stretched in the sunlight before sneezing... and checking whether anyone noticed the sneeze

"Kurata you're a mess! you really should be more careful with that paint.." Chigusa smirked and brushed back a strand of hair from her face watching Reiko laugh nervously.

From the look on Reiko's face Chigusa could tell that she was looking for an excuse to depart. "Fat chance Kurata" Chigusa spun around and stood infront of Reiko smiling. "Nakamura-sempai was great today wasn't he? He didn't miss a single line..were you watching?" Chigusa was confident about her predatory grin. She knew it could have put a wolf to shame "I know I was."

Then spotting Reiko's bus Chigusa spun around and waved before heading back towards the school. "Well that was fun."

Intercom: clean up in aiyle 5

Ton Ton: Aiya, not again!!

he hated to go to the womans article aiyle.
makes him feel so uncomfortable.

Ton Ton: ah, just my luck........

A great puddle of hideous substance lied down on the floor
Oh yes, puke, one of the more unpleasent jobs, of the glorious existence of the supermarket assistent.

Suddenly while cleaning Ton Ton couldnt help but look to his right......

ergh, tampons!!

and he imidiatly continued mopping the floor.

Intercom:Ton Ton sort out the cans at the aiyle 7/8 intersection

after walking there he suddenly realised how hungry he actually was.

ton ton: oh i need to eat........

He had this bad habbit of forgetting the world around him when his stomach called upon him to be filled.

He immediatly setted his eyes upon the juice water melons that was upon the fruit stand.
They looked so full, so juicy and so dellicious.

No!! he said to him self, i must resist. RESIST!! RESIST DAMITT!!

*10 minutes later*

Shopowner: Mr Tan, this is the 15th time this month!!
although your a hard worker, i cant see how your
inabilty to control yourself is going to do us any good.
Last time the candys and now the melons!!!

Ton Ton tried to whipe of the melon pits and the red melon flesh that was all spread over his face, but the evidence wouldnt go....

Shopowner: im afraid we'll have to fire you Mr Tan...
Ton Ton: Oh please sir, give me another chance

Ton Ton started to beg on the floor and his upper lip was shaking
even when on his knees he was still a head bigger than his boss.

Shopowner: im sorry but the tears wont work for the 15th time

5 minutes later Ton Ton was outside the store, stripped of his market uniform and pride......

he kept looking down at the street, until he heard to familiar voices at the other end of the street.

It was Reiko and Chigusa.
Reiko was a special friend to Ton since he came to Japan.
She was the 1st one that didnt act mean to him and she was also the one that taught him to learn Jappanese more smoothly.

Even now he would ask her to help him with his homework, since he himself knew that he wasnt the brightest guy in the world.

Chigusa however was a different story.
Since being friends with Reiko automaticly means being rivals with Chigusa.
Chigusa also always tries to fool him in one way or the other and he never notices it, until Reiko tells him.
But Ton was a forgiving boy and he always seems to forgive her, something Reiko just wont understand.

Ton: "Konnichiwa, my friends" he said with a big warm smile on his face, "my oh my, what happend Reiko? I mean all that paint"

"Ton-kun, konnichiwa," Reiko bowed her head as Chigusa walked away and then looked down at her paint spattered coveralls. "The paint? Oh, well, I was trying to get the set built for the school play." She sighed. "I just need to get home and shower, then I'm babysitting for Mrs. Kanzaki." The bus came to a stop and Reiko stepped aboard. "I'll see you tomorrow, Ton-kun!" She dropped into a seat and leaned her head back.

I can't believe she gets to play opposite Nakamura-sempai. Reiko pursed her lips. ...I hate her.

Chigusa hadn't even heard Ton Ton as she walked away so instead of throwing out another cutting remark before she left Chigusa just walked back to the school.

Unfortunatly everyone was leaving. She had taken too much time bugging Kurata and had made it back late.

"Damn" going through the halls as quickly as she could Chigusa looked for Nakamura-Sempai. But she couldn't find him.

"Hey Emiko-san! have you Nakamura-Sempai around?" Emiko pointed to the door shrugging "He left to go home about ten minutes ago Chigusa-san" "double damn!" Chigusa thanked Emiko and went to get her stuff sighing. Another lost chance to spend time with Nakamura-Sempai.

Opening the door slowly she began her walk for home.

Some of her classmates once asked Chigusa why she always choose to walk home. It was long and an uphill hike since they live on a hill overlooking the port. Chigusa would just smile and laugh saying that she needed to keep in shape.

But that wasn't it. She just...hated going home. Every time she walked through those huge doors and into the finely decorated greeting room Chigusa was reminded that her father was waiting. His wrinkled brows would squish together and he would glare. He would cough and sputter as he cursed her for being late. Curse her mother for leaving him with such an ugly little monster. Chigusa would then smile and tell him that she had homework to attend to. Then he would leave her alone and she would memorize her lines for the following practice.

Thats how it always was. With that turning through her mind Chigusa slowed her pace and began to take in the scenery as she walked home.

TonTon:"The play? oh tell me more!!" he asked Reiko

Reiko however stepped into the bus without a word and the busdoor slammed infront of TonTons face.....

After Reiko stepped into the bus and chigusa left without a word,
Ton Ton just stood there alone quietly for 5 minutes and one could hear the wind blow....

TonTon shook his head: Japanese girls are just so confussing.

Suddenly TonTons stomach grumbeld: "Argh, so hungry!"

and he decided to go downtown to eat some Ramen and he took stepped upon his bicycle.

The bike however made a uncomfortable sound the moment he sat on it and it was evident that he had a flat tire.....

It just had to be one of those days were everything went wrong.
