At what age did you start drawing manga?

Hi, ppl, I just got a light-bulb moment, and I want to post before the idea flies away .

I know from some of you how old you are, but not really when you got started, and how long it took you to get whereever you are now ^_^.

It'd be nice if y'all could reply on this thread answering these two questions:
  • At what age did you start drawing manga?
  • How old are you now? (eg.: how long have you been drawing manga until now?)

To answer these two questions about myself:
  • I started drawing manga when I was 15 and a half.
  • I'm now 16 years and 8 months old, and recently, about two months ago, I started drawing like mad, carrying my materials everywhere I go, drawing everyday (hit me plz, I wasn't as serious with manga when I was 15 compared to now).

Arigatou, minna-san!

Does it have to be just manga? I don't draw manga, but I do draw, and my characters look like they could end up in manga.... ::shrug:: Just asking.

Hehe, sorry, I forgot all about that .

It doesn't necessarily have to be manga .

Well, in that case, I've been drawing for a good 7 or 8 years now. I started in about 6th grade, at age 12, just doodling in margins. I seriously started working to improve my art at age 13 or 14, and I'm 19 now (20 in May)

Hm, well, I've been drawing all my life, but I didnt' start drawing anime/manga until last year when I saw Escaflowne for the first time. I was 16. That was a year and four months ago, so now I'm 17 and a half.

About 4 years ago, I did one or two drawings, but I don't think I really got into drawing very much until about 3 years ago - mid-to-late '99. ^___^

I never really tried because I usually suck at drawing anime stuff. I don't think my first real attempts were after I was out of High school, other than that it's a rarity that I do anime actually. But I guess you can say I've been drawing anime for about 2-3 years. This is just another evolution of my drawing styles... Eventhough I say I suck at drawing things like anime, so think I do well. It's all in the eye of the beholder I guess?

I have been drawing for a long time now, I think for about 8 years(I'm 15), and 4 years I had my own, realistic style of drawing (mostly) girl, before that I made comic thingies, and now since 6 months or something(since the summer) manga.. but I like manga sooo much more, because it's both comic and realistic..

Well, I've been drawing Disneyesque as long as I've been drawing, and working on a slightly more realistic style that whole time as well. I've only been into anime for about a year, maybe less, and still don't draw true anime/manga style. I have some anime elements in my art, like the hairstyles, but it's mostly more realistic than anime. ::shrug::

I started making comics around the age of ten and rather poorly I might add. Now I am almost 20 and still making comics (still rather poorly as well ^_^)
