Your reaction to the last episodes*spoilers*
I was just curious as to how everyone else reacted.(I just got done watching it for the second time, and I just need to talk about it )
My sister and I kept waiting 'til the end of "Blue" with a secret hope "He's not dead, he's just sleeping" in our minds. Spike just seems like such an immortal guy. I was too shocked and horrified to cry!
How about ya'll?

Well I'm not going to give reasons that go against your secret hope. Anyway, my reaction was both happy and sad. I was happy that he got what he desired, and I was sad that he ummm.... started "sleeping" in our minds. Anyway, for some reason after I saw it and after "Blue" I shed a tear.

First time I saw it, I felt...something...something I can't really discribe. Relief, perhaps? Strange, I know...but Spike finally was awake...
Now, whenever I watch the ending, I have to brush some tears away. It is a sad ending, no doubt...

I think that the end just felt "right" in my mind. The end, I believe, was fitting and that is how it should have ended. Though I probably would've called any complete ending "right" since the last series I saw was Evangelion. Again though, I wasn't that sad. I knew what was coming and what to expect. I am glad that Ed and Ein will hopefully live happy ever after.

Eh, the ending was sort of surprising. As a whole, the last episode was sort of a "Wow, didn't see it happening like that" kind of thing.
The last episodes (especially the last) of Now and Then, Here and There, I hear, are on a "Holy Fludging Shnit!!!" sort of level.

I thought CB had probably the most perfect ending of any series I'd ever seen. I was profoundly.......moved by it, but I wasn't really sad per se. More sad for Faye than for anyone else really.
I never really identified with Spike, he was fun to watch and interesting, but I never really got attatched to him emotionally the way I did to Faye and Jet. His super-cocky, nigh-immortal hi-jinks always seemed strangely cliche and artificial for such a sophisticated show, and I'm glad that they dealt with that in the ending. Spike may have been extremely cool, but you can't live that sort of lifestyle for long without it grinding you into dust. Faye and Jet aren't nearly as cool as Spike, but at the end of the day, they have a future.

Blown away. I watched it to the very last second, wringing as much out of the last moments of this brilliant series as I could. I knew Spike would die (thanks to a spoiler in an unexpected place ), but I was still floored by the ending.
I agree that it was the most perfect series ending I had seen; there was no room for a sequel, and even if there were one, I probably wouldn't watch it.
Ed and Ein would be alright... and Jet's a trooper. However, I really felt sympathy for Faye. Those last moments between her and Spike really left me devoid of speech.

So, I called up Robert...The rest is history."

Well, we all sorta knew that Spike was gonna die; that old Indian Soothsayer said so. However, I was still shocked because I didn't think Spike would Really die. After I watched it, I go, "I'm gonna watch it again." After you think about it, it's such a good ending. First, it's better than going back to bebop and living happily ever after, married to Faye. Second, it kills the chances of blood-thirsty bussinessmen from wanting to squeeze more money from this franchise.

Well sure, but they can still make more movies. My reaction to the end was different though; after watching the final episodes, I did *not* feel like watching it again...it was THAT tragic and final. But I agree with darkmarine that he had to die. After all, just about everybody else did...
Yeah, I could make a list, but I won't. They know who they are.

Actually I wasn't as upset at the death of Spike as I was by the breakup of the group. I always get sad when everyone goes off on their separate ways. I guess it always happens, but the concept of friends forever is easier for me to understand. Looking back on the series, i thought the death was a good ending and a solid one. I think that there was little that could be added to the series anyway. I hate animes like dragonball where it goes on forever with nothing new.
*Noir semi-spoiler*
I was actually much more distraught as the semi-ambiguous ending of my favorite anime- Noir. I have come to grips with it now, but I pray that there is not another season, like people have been saying there might be. Hopefully they don't try to do that to Bebop either. Closure is good to prevent the run on from happening.

I dont know if anyone has covered this yet but, as for your "Spike is Immortal" thing. Spike is one tough guy, but you have to add a few elements to this equation
Elemnts
1. Vicious was a pretty immortal tough guy too
2. Spike just took on just about all of the red dragon clan, and Vicious
3. Finaly, Vicious and Spike agree that they are the only two that can kill eachother

It was one star-buster ending yo! Simply lovely. I mean taking on the entire Red Dragon Syndicate and leaving with his life would have been just laughable. The ending concluded quite well and at least Spike got to finish a long fight with Vicious once and for all before he passed away.
