n00b Question

Sorry if this question has been asked before countless times. I guess it would have been...

I just saw the trailer of Nadesico on a Madman DVD (Australian version of AD TV kindof). It looked kindof good. Should I shell out AUD180 (USD90) for the DVDs? As in, is it worth it?

I was also wondering what Nadesico is consisted of. I know there are 26 episodes (?), a Movie: Prince of Darkness, and I have also heard something about an OVA: Not sure what that is about.

Supposedly there is an anime within Nadesico. Is it a real anime series?

I humbly ask for your advice.

If you like mecha, comedies, and purdy chicks, yeah. It's not all comedy, though, but the series strikes a good balance between the two. It's definitely up there among my most favourite series.

I was also wondering what Nadesico is consisted of. I know there are 26 episodes (?), a Movie: Prince of Darkness, and I have also heard something about an OVA: Not sure what that is about.

The OVA is the Gekigangar OVA, the anime series that is followed by some of the crew of the Nadesico.

Yep, read above.

I humbly ask for your advice.

P.S. That's Ben Folds, to save me any embarrassment. :heh:

There's only one Gekiganger OVA... Yurika, Minato, Ruri and Akito are the only Nadesico characters in it.

for the mecha, cute girls, nice spaceships and space battles, reasonable plot and a good dash of humour throughout, go for it... I coughed up all that money for the tapes, and its really good.

Nadesico consists of 26 tv eps, two dreamcast games (The Mission and Gap of Three Years), one OAV and the Prince of Darkness movie.

its apparantly a almost direct copy of some ancient anime that I forget the name of...

I humbly ask for your advice.

Izumi needs her own OVA, where she travels the world, making puns, and whatnot.

I am going to find time this weekend to watch the damn movie...... I've had it lying around here on CD for about a month.
